Highland girl I think they are different because I don't know a single child called Hugh, not one and I know lots of children.

OTOH I know masses of children called James. Counting down from DS1's year (aged 11) I can think of 15 of school age (don't really know many pre-schoolers now).

There's nothing wrong with the name James, really not, but it is very popular. Like Thomas and Matthew and Oliver. They are popular because they are nice, easy to say, easy to spell etc. But if you don't want a top 10 name then maybe best avoided.

TheMeow can't have a Philip as it's my step-fathers names, and whist I loved him (sadly he's passed away now) my Father would never speak to me again...! Any other suggestions....???

Clary Hi, DH really likes James, and I agree it's a great name, nothing wrong with it at all. But it's just a bit..well..blaaaaa! The closer we get to due date, i can't help but look at names on the top list and go...ohhh maybe that one..clearly need to stick to my guns..!

Xmas Smile
