Please help me decide on DD2's name!

Have namechanged to be able to provide a bit more info to help you help me!

I'm 29wks pg and was feeling all smug about how I'd chosen DD2's name at about 8wks, but I've become more and more unsure and it just doesn't seem to be 'the one' anymore!

Both DH and I loved 'Juliet' but at almost the same time as I was starting to wobble about it, DH came out and said he wasn't sure about it anymore either. Argh!

Our new list is basically:

Sophia
Olivia
Hollie
Lois

DD1 is called Gabriella, our surname starts with H and only has one syllable - it's quite close to 'House' just to give you more to work with.

My total favourite from the list now is Hollie, but just worried it will sound strange with her surname also starting with an 'H' and being quite short. Also not sure how well it goes with DD1. DH's favourite is Lois.

What do you think? Any other name suggestions are also welcome! Smile

Ooh I love Gabriella but I don't think any of the names you've listed are as lovely as that. Juliet is much nicer than the others you've mentioned. :)

Ragwort · 24/11/2010 21:55

Sophia

Hollie H* will sound a bit odd, don't think the other two suggestions would go with an H surname either.

Juliet is lovely, so is Julia - both quite unusual these days.

Caroline?

Susannah?

AuraofDora · 24/11/2010 21:56

yes Juliet is lovely, unusual these days and classic name
am not really that taken with any of your other choices sorry

jkklpu · 24/11/2010 22:00

Olivia

snice · 24/11/2010 22:04

I would have said Juliet if it were still on your list. I like the suggestion of Susannah from Ragwort

Goingspare · 24/11/2010 22:04

Juliet!

AndHerNameWillBe · 24/11/2010 22:10

Thanks for your quick replies!

I just knew someone would say that about Gabriella BelligerentGhoul! That's been our main problem to be honest, lots of friends have said that we'll never match it, so no pressure then! Grin

I meant to put in my OP that my name is of the same format as Hollie H (my first name also starts with an 'H' and has 2 syllables). I didn't like the alliteration at first when DH and I got married, but it doesn't really bother me now.

Gabriella is lovely.

Think Olivia of the 4 your list works best. Irrationally I dislike Hollie, but Holly's ok.

How about
Rosanna
Romilly
Melissa
Luisa

smother · 24/11/2010 22:12

I think Juliet is the nicest by quite some way! Jules makes a lovely nn too.

BelligerentGhoul · 24/11/2010 22:13

Names that are as nice as Gabriella imho -

Vivienne
Yolande
Hermione
Meredith
Marianne
Elinor
Juliet :)
Miranda

BelligerentGhoul · 24/11/2010 22:13

Melissa is lovely too.

typsical · 24/11/2010 22:13

Love all your names but how about some more that go with Gabriella (imo)...

Elizabeth
Rosie
Ophelia
Amelia
Rebecca
Matilda

As I'm thinking of names to go with Gabriella, Sophia keeps popping into my head :)

MonkeySee · 24/11/2010 22:13

Not Hollie

Sophia or Olivia

Francesca?

seeker · 24/11/2010 22:15

How about Judith?

AndHerNameWillBe · 24/11/2010 22:16

Ooh, lots of you liking Juliet. It could maybe come back onto the list now I've had so much approval!

Susannah is lovely, but we have a close relative with that name so can't use it Sad

Gabriella and Hollie don't go. It's cute for a little girl but not a woman. It's definitely not sexy or romantic!

Like Juliet and Lois. Really like Judith.

MerryMarigold · 24/11/2010 22:22

Sidge, Tamsin and Meredith were both on my list!

LadyCad · 24/11/2010 22:22
