Need to register DD's birth before the end of this week and we have completely run out of inspiration to find a middle name for her. Her name is Florence, but is called Florrie for now.
Please help! Nothing too twee, and not Rose for the obvious reasons!

If you can't think of one, don't give her one Smile Congratulations Florrie is lovely

Trouble is we have a very very distinctive surname (wish I could share it!) and nothing sounds right.....
Thanks for all your suggestions though

Any more clues, biggest? Is your surname long or short, mainly consonsants or vowels? Have you worked out what number of syllables sounds best as a middle name, and with the emphasis on what syllable?

Florence Anastasia
Florence Ophelia
Florence Esperanza
Florence Antoinette
Florence Katherina

How about three names, two long and one short?

e.g. Florence Alexandra Jane...

upahill · 08/09/2010 21:04

Why do you have to have a middle name?

SuzieHomemaker · 08/09/2010 21:06

All our DCs' middle names are places in France plus my maiden name (so two middle names).

My brother gave one of his DDs the maiden name of paternal grandmother.

This changes the balance so one personal name and two family names but not hyphenated eg:

Florence Jones Snufflebottom

(apologies to all those Snufflebottoms out there)

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 08/09/2010 21:09

How about Austell or Ives? Or any other Cornish saints whose names are places...?

LilyBolero · 08/09/2010 22:14
