I love these names, but does anyone have any opinions on these?

I love Morag (but then I am Scottish so I may be biased)

thighsmadeofcheddar · 12/08/2010 15:37

I love Mabel, was high on my list for last DD. Morag no!

LetThereBeRock · 12/08/2010 15:42

I don't like either.

grumpypants · 12/08/2010 15:49

They are beautiful. My (still tbc and agreed to by dh) dd will be Mabel, and dd1 has Morag - was almost first name, but lots of Southertn objection.

MollysChambers · 12/08/2010 15:53

I'm Scottish. Morag is a granny name to me. And not in a good way. Please don't.

BunnyLebowski · 12/08/2010 16:00

Love Mabel.

Morag is hideous. It's just a horrible harsh ugly sound.

I love Mabel....but then I would.

theagedparent · 12/08/2010 16:30

Mabel is lovely

PosieParker · 12/08/2010 16:30

(my Mabel is nearly four and my only dd, in my photos)

tummytickler · 12/08/2010 16:46

Morag is fab and on our list for future dc.
Mabel is ok.

mathanxiety · 12/08/2010 16:51

The only Morag I ever knew hated her name. A girl's name shouldn't include the sound 'rag' imo.

LaDiDaDi · 12/08/2010 16:53

Mabel is lovely.

baiyu · 12/08/2010 16:57

Depends where you live - a drawn out Mo-rag less pretty than a softer Scottish 'Morrug' IMO but I still love it.

grumpypants · 12/08/2010 20:26

I have a gret aunt morag and she is wonderful. also a rona - all names i think are great for babies who you intend to become might be feisty women one day

SirBoobAlot · 12/08/2010 20:30

Love Morag. Not sure about Mabel.

BorisTheBold · 12/08/2010 21:40

Ewww don't go for Morag, it's a gossipy old lady name (am Scottish btw).

seaturtle · 12/08/2010 22:02

Mabel. Morag sounds harsh.

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 12/08/2010 22:04

both not nice

DinahRod · 12/08/2010 22:07

Mabel

Casmama · 12/08/2010 22:08

Neither - sorry.

GRW · 12/08/2010 22:09

I know a 14 year old Mabel.

Remotew · 12/08/2010 22:10

Another vote for neither.

serin · 12/08/2010 22:10

I love Mabel

superdragonmama · 12/08/2010 22:24

I love Mabel so much that nearly was my dd's name. :)

However, I just told said dd, she's 17, and she was horrified and said if I'd called her Mabel she would have changed her name!!

I still love it though.
