HI,

What does everyone think of these two names for a boy?

Skyler
Blaize

Also, does anyone like the name Soleil for a girl?

Thank you : ))

All bad imho, sorry.

ArseHolio · 16/07/2010 21:13

I actually really like Skyler and I am not ususally one for 'out there' names.

Blaize is awful though.. It's a horses name. It makes em feel like singing RAWHIDE!

rollin rollin rollin..

Hmm I quite liked Blaise (prefer the pselling with an S rather than a Z) when I was pregnant, unfortunately I had already named my dog it so that made it kind of off limits!

ArseHolio · 16/07/2010 21:16

Have you been drinking SGM ?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 16/07/2010 21:17

Kind of ironic that I have typoed "spelling"

ArseHolio · 16/07/2010 21:17

It didnt post my !

That wasn't an accusation SGM

MisSalLaneous · 16/07/2010 21:18

Neither of those really my thing, sorry. It sounds like you're trying too hard. (Please feel free to ignore, my son has a "weird" name for England, although it is a family name for us.)

compo · 16/07/2010 21:20

I know a Blaise

mum is a bit boho but lovely

Littlefish · 16/07/2010 21:22

Sorry, but I really don't like any of them. I agree with MisSalLaneous that it sounds like you're trying to hard to be different.

CricketThicket · 16/07/2010 21:33

TarheelMama · 16/07/2010 21:35

I've only ever met girls called Skyler, so I'm afraid. I like Soleil though.

arizonagirl · 16/07/2010 21:51

Ho hum, hubby has just pointed out that soleil sounds like 'silly'. Shame, really like that name : (

MisSalLaneous · 16/07/2010 21:53

Remember, a name is for life, not just for Christmas pregnancy fuelled hormones.

ArseHolio · 16/07/2010 21:57

It doesn't sound like silly.

You say it so-lay. It's french for sun.

nelly83 · 16/07/2010 21:59

I know a girl called Skyla which I think is lovely for a girl so I don't really get it as a boys name sorry. Blaize and soleil not my style either. If u like them tho that's all that matters

ShadeofViolet · 16/07/2010 22:01

I know a Blaize - he is three and wears a large gold chain and cross

kalo12 · 16/07/2010 22:02

honestly i think they sound a bit chav.

soleil could be so mispronounced - sully? sally? solaay - you mean like solarium?

sorry (runs and hides)

QueeferSutherland · 16/07/2010 22:05

I like Soleil.
Are you pronouncing it So-layl?

doughnutty · 16/07/2010 22:15

I heart Skylar but would have used for a girl if it hadn't been vetoed by DH. We had a boy so we sidestepped that landmine!

Don't like Blaize.

Jazmyn · 17/07/2010 11:33

personally I think "out there" names are great, your baby is an individual so why have a name that everyone thinks is nice and normal?! go for it! Skyler is a great name!
