And if so, how much do you think? Thinking of making more to fundraise for charity event. There are things I could improve on with it so would do that before selling too.

Please also give me suggestions for improvement

I’m not quite sure what it is OP. Obviously a peacock feather but what is the bit at the top? Is it knitted?

Yoghurtpotsatdawn · 30/08/2023 20:51

So sorry, I’ve just seen the peacock neck and head 🫣. It’s nice but it’s not my sort of thing so I’d not buy it, but that doesn’t mean other people wouldn’t love it.

StylishM · 30/08/2023 20:52

It looks phallic OP, and the finish is very amateur, sorry but I don't think it's saleable

LubaLuca · 30/08/2023 20:54

No, it's not appealing to me. What's the body part made of?

Sunflowersinthewind · 30/08/2023 20:55

It's made of clay, points noted about phallic appearance!

No because its not my sort of thing. Sorry

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 30/08/2023 20:57

I think I might buy it from a charity event, but I would be concerned about the feathers being dustcatchers.

lemonyaid · 30/08/2023 20:58

Is it purely decorative? It's not for me sorry. And what are you watching on your telly?

CheersToMe · 30/08/2023 20:58

No. Peacock feathers are unlucky.

Wiii · 30/08/2023 20:59

It looks a bit angry

lemonyaid · 30/08/2023 20:59

I think the body bit needs a bit of work - I first thought it was a brain with a peacock tail

My son was watching YouTube shorts!

I wouldn't buy it. Also peacock feathers in the house are thought to be unlucky. I'm not superstitious but plenty of people are.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 30/08/2023 21:00

It's not my cup of tea but my little girl would absolutely want me to buy her it (I'd give in if it was reasonably priced and for charity).

EmmaEmerald · 30/08/2023 21:00

The bit that looks knitted in the pic, is that clay? Is there a way you can smooth out the finish and alter the colour?

My mum would love that kind of thing - wouldn't buy it but if she had lots to spend she might.

Anneta · 30/08/2023 21:01

It’s not the sort of thing I would buy.

Sunflowersinthewind · 30/08/2023 21:02

Which bit looks knitted? I never knew this about peacock feathers on the house, I'm doomed (although don't have much luck anyway)

OP posts:
EmmaEmerald · 30/08/2023 21:05

The white bit looks knitted

in some countries, peacock feathers are considered good luck, so I guess you form a view.

continentallentil · 30/08/2023 21:08

No, a stuffed peacock is alarming.

Yoghurtpotsatdawn · 30/08/2023 21:09

Can you make other clay items? Vases, bowls, pots etc? Is there any theme that would fit in with the charity you are selling them for? If it’s an animal charity for example, something like a vase in peacock feather colours or in a peacock feather design etched into it for example. Or a vase or bowl with Dalmatian spots etc?

continentallentil · 30/08/2023 21:09

I realise it isn’t, but a fake stuffed peacock is almost as alarming and a bit more strange

Doyoureallyhavetoask · 30/08/2023 21:11

No, I don't like it.

Someone may love it though!

SalviaDivinorum · 30/08/2023 21:12

No - in our family peacock feathers are considered very unlucky. It's quite a common superstition in the UK

Yoghurtpotsatdawn · 30/08/2023 21:12

Don’t be put off. Just have a think about how you could adapt whatever you enjoy making OP
