OK, those of you who were at my new knitting group this morning, you must surely be MNetters! Come out of the woodwork!

At home on a Friday morning, kids in school, knitting, eating homemade cake in a Cath Kidston kitchen, blogging? You must must must be MNetters and I demand to know who you are!

wasn't me, but sounds like fun!, where abouts in the country is this??

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 09/01/2009 13:37

South west, it was really nice actually, though I didn't get to make the most of it as I was trying to keep an eye on DD (18mo) who was immaculately behaved, but it's nice to do a grown up thing that you can take kids to rather than have to go to excruciating baby groups where no one talks to you, and certainly no one talks to you about non baby stuff. Can't wait to go again!

It does sound lovely but I'm struggling to picture it - I knit, but I can't do it in the presence of my 21-month-old twins because they go wild for the wool and the needles and clamber up on me, and it's just not worth the hassle. Luckily I also have a knitting group but it's an evening one at the local library...

warthog · 09/01/2009 19:40

did you host it or go to one?

i DREAM of doing this!

lucykate · 09/01/2009 19:43

i go to one on a tuesday evening in a local pub, haven't been for a few weeks though, fist was ill, then we were away, then it was dd's birthday and can't go next week either as dh is off to seattle on monday for a week, and suffering withdrawals!

lucykate · 09/01/2009 19:44

first not fist!

MinaLoy · 09/01/2009 20:43

Lol, having an ill fist would make it hard to knit!

ontheup · 10/01/2009 21:37

i think you'll find I was there......

ontheup · 10/01/2009 21:38

...and if I'm right you're right, your DD was a sweetie

vInTaGeVioLeT · 10/01/2009 21:42

i'm in southwest but i can't knit so it wasn't me!

ontheup · 10/01/2009 21:49

ah well I never said I was much of a knitter ..and I can vouch for the CK kitchen...lovely knitting group and lovely cakes too

ontheup · 13/01/2009 18:40

Did I say something ??? or has a nicer knitting group supplanted us in your affections?!

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 16/01/2009 08:47

Oh, I had given up on this thread! Sorry, didn't mean to ignore you!

I knew there must have been MNetters there . Obviously you know who I am (thanks for the compliment on my DD, she is a sweetie, and I take none of the credit!) you can hint to me who you were, or not tell me, which is perfectly understandable and I can just sit at the next session dropping major hints

One careful owner of a DS who is car obsessed and spent most of the time taking me to see the toilet.....

Bumperslucious · 22/01/2009 16:17

Oooh, hello again. Are you going tomorrow? I don't have a project to do. I might get someone to show me how to crochet!

ontheup · 22/01/2009 21:19

Yep - still bashing away at my baby jacket for a friend who has now had said baby so I HAVE to get it finished as she (baby) will only have 2mth wear out of it!! CRochet teaching sounds fun - I made a little bear for DS (called catbear cos it looks rather feline) but it came out about half the size it was meant to be - tension issues....wonder what kind if cakes there will be?

Bumperslucious · 22/01/2009 21:58

Mmmm can't wait! What time is it? 10am? I wonder if any of the rest of them MN? The Northern girl next to me last time blogs, and she seemed pretty fiesty, she must Mumsnet!

warthog · 22/01/2009 23:10

ohoohohhohohoh can anyone go or is it a private do?

Bumperslucious · 23/01/2009 09:06

Well they let me in!

warthog · 23/01/2009 10:32

south west london or south west??

NilDesperandum · 23/01/2009 10:34

where is this???

Bumperslucious · 23/01/2009 14:20

Love the assumption that anything good must be in London . It does feel that way to me sometimes!

No, South West of the country, well South West/Midlands. Can be more specific cryptically if you think it is near you.

Am gutted that am going to have to give it up as I am going back to work on a Friday. I just had such a lovely time today, despite being probably the youngest (and poorest!) there.

Bumperslucious · 23/01/2009 14:39

Ontheup here is that doll pattern that I did. I really enjoyed crochet, I'm going to give that a go I think! Thanks for the nursery advice btw.

NilDesperandum · 23/01/2009 15:17

is it in a county that begins with W?

Bumperslucious · 23/01/2009 15:25

No, either the one above or the one below depending on which you mean. Either way probably too far. Sorry, I really want everyone to be able to come!
