I have eyelet tools,but...silly question...what do you need to use brads? Don't you just pierce them through the card? Do you need anything else, any special tools?
I ordered some recently, but I am hoarding them for a rainy day! I have just had some more goodies delivered today, haven't had much time to have a play yet! Too many little hands getting into everything.

AuntyQuated · 31/03/2005 19:15

yes, brads just need a hole. but if the breads are tiny then they arte too fragile to puncture the card so you need a tiny hole punch to make a wee hole

hunkermunker, i'll emsil you a pic of some eyelets

AuntyQuated · 31/03/2005 19:24

Look forward to all my bits arriving! Won't look at them though until my stuff has been posted as I find otherwise I will get so hung up I will duplicate it. Made 12 cards so far this week- some to seel for our carnival club (Bridgwater carnival- it's great!), a few for a Do-Crafts swap, mainly brwosing for this swap though. And spending too much cash.

Jayzmum, was browsing on spcial needs pages and saw your name a lot. I have a son with AS. Taking him to BIBIc when I can get arranged (as it is ten minute drive).

Anyway, that belongs on another thread. What I meant to say was: do you find the card making relaxing? I certainly do, I think that's why it is the one hobby that stuck- especially the quilling, as that needs such concentration (I'm a clumsy mare) that I can forget the day. DS1 loves model making (his obsession- junk modelling) so we get to share things like glitter and have great quality time.

pootlepod · 02/04/2005 09:42

Ok, I have made my card and saved the bits that I need to send, will sort that out next week when my guests have gone. Do I take a picture of my made up card as well, or do I send that somewhere?

I have tried using wire (stuff arrrived from lakeland) and really enjoyed it though it took me ages! Stole an idea from their catalogue too!

What do we do with the pictures? I need to pass the info to my Hubby under the heading of 'stuff that's too technical'.

Dingle · 02/04/2005 10:12

Punnet, my 3yr old dd has SN too! (DS) that's really why I got into cardmaking. Before that I used to do a LOT of knitting, but found I needed something that I could achieve results quicker IYKWIM!
The only quilling I do is the fluffy daisies, I would love to see some of your work.
I haven't even started my "man's challenge" yet!

Punnet · 02/04/2005 10:24

Quick results are good aren't they! Sam only sleeps 5 hours a night, so don't get too much peace.

Not too experienced at quilling yet, but seem to have a knack at it (as opposed to freehand drawing where Sam could beat me hands down!). DH thinking about making me an internet gallery- not sales, as I find it stressful with ds trying to fulfill anything other than the odd order.

Do poetry too as that's quick, but gave up on the creative writing when Sam came along... couldn't concentrate long enough. Nice to be able to write own verses for cards though I guess, often write them for friends cards too.
