OK I will have a go (those sites have given me some ideas and confidence, thank you Dingle) but please be gentle with me and don't laugh if I end up with a 'feminine' father's day card!

Is there a link to the challenge before? How do I find out my CC's?

AuntyQuated · 28/03/2005 19:22

hi

if you email me your name and address i will add them to the list then when i ahve them all i will email you the name and address of your CCs.

champs - are you joining us? as i will do as last time and be your go-between.

glad you are joining us pootlepod - you can also just google search 'handmade fathers' day cards' and i am sure you will find all sorts of things

Dingle · 28/03/2005 19:28

If your fathers day turns out to be a bit feminine, it will be just the thing for a "feminine" father IYSWIM!

Well done pootlepod!

Jaysmum · 28/03/2005 20:29

on another thraed we wwere all talking about how difficult it is to make man's cards, so thought it might be a good idea to do the challenge this way so that we can learn from one another..lok at the links dingle put up plus the ggogle search and see if you feel inspired.
i really didn't want to put anyone off

Dior.....glad your joining in.....the one thing I learnt from the last challenge is that by seeing other peoples designs I was limiting myself with the sort of cards I made.My cards tend to be a bit wacky and I used unusual things which only were bought by my wacky friends!!!! I never ever made a pink card before the challenge.......but now its a different story.....I have gone all pink, fluffy and cant stop making bloody fairies!!!!!!!
By taking part in the challenge I have learnt so many differnt things.....and have simulated a couple of the designs....its a fun way to develop your skills......so please stay and join in the fun.

I think that the general feeling is that making cards for men is horrible, we are feel a bit insecure in our own ways. Which is the whole reason, WHY, we should be doing it.
Surely the challenge isn't to worry about what your card will be like, but to have fun, and hopefully learn something which you can take away and incorporate into your own cards. We learn from each other...and I for one need the experience just as the newest of cardmakers. Simply because...I hate making cards for men!

Punnet · 28/03/2005 22:36

Hear hear! I didn't realise I had a particular problem until I started thinking about it! It's alright for specific occasions- 50 (torn vellum and gilt stickers), dad (beer cans / tools if FIL)... but a generic one is a challenge! Which is a good thing really: I whipped off three new baby cards today (lovely quilled bunny), so it is good to have something that frankly I can't do!... isn't it?

Might be tempted at a later date but not yet Having never made a card before I need to sort out a workspace and try it first!

AuntyQuated · 29/03/2005 09:43

what crafts do you do, sd?

punnet, i ahve just got your CAT thnaks

kkgirl · 29/03/2005 09:47

I feel a bit nervous myself as have not made a mans card yet, but will have a go. Off to get inspiration and some materials now.

SoupDragon · 29/03/2005 09:53

AQ, I tinker with everything! At least I used to. Children put a stop to that but I'm finally getting round to doing some again.

Punnet · 29/03/2005 12:30

I find chilodren a good excuse to do it! 'Of course the hobbycraft trip isn't for me dearest, it's for the children', 'just need to pop to craft shop... stuff for the Rainbow Guides honestly'... anyway my three boys love crafty stuff (theya re 5, 4 and 20 months so they probably haven't decided that Mummy isn't cool yet!).
