Hi all - did you miss me yesterday ?
I was poorly sick & couldn't get out of bed - some sort of horrid cold / temperature thingy. I'm still a bit wobbly today but at least have managed to turn on the PC.
Jeangenie what on earth are you making?? Yes I have got a sense of humour but am now slightly worried
GM hmm, can't recall seeing bicones like that but will look around for you

I have made two carnelian bracelets but i am not happy witht he square toggle on one.. its not so great a design and i'm going to take it apart and put a diffrent toggle on it...

i'll try to get soemthing else productive done but DS will be back in an hour so most crafting will get done on friday i think...

jeangenie · 05/03/2008 10:32

ha ha DH told me last night that he had chopped off the arms from a long sleeved shirt as the cuffs were frayed and he wanted to turn it into a short sleeved summer shirt...he wasn't quite sure how to use my machine so could I please do it for him...oh how I laughed...and laughed...he looked a little discomfitted...until I admitted that I can't sew a straight line to save my life...so we've compromised and I will thread the machine with brown thread for him to do it himself...now, who is going to buy the brown thread I wonder...(JG sits on hands)

whizz maybe it isn't that crazy...I looked at it again this morning and could see a certain appeal...(DH just always thinks I am mad, it's quite cute really ) but I will send you nice chocolate too, just in case you have to throw it straight in bin - ok...

jeangenie · 05/03/2008 10:35

love the bracelets Meri, as always

love your necklaces too Dior

have left comments on blogs

meridian · 05/03/2008 10:45

jg- lol at your poor DH... and am dying to know what you have made for whizzz.... thanks for the lovely comment.. I'm quite disappointed in the toggle.. but i'm jsut afraid it will come apart and thats just not good.... going to order a bunch of beads and things soon .. have a huge list as I have some ideas for some necklaces I am desperate to make but could end up beign very expensive.. and also have to figure out what to do for DH's birthday at the end of the month... have told him we should get a nintendo DS for when we go to the states and he neerly ran off the the shops to get one.. I said for his birthday then he can have a game and then we can get some games for H too... then both are happy and they can argue over it while I watch a film

Whizzz · 05/03/2008 10:47

meridian you may be able to use the big toggle on a necklace, they tend to stay put more than bracelets.

Gingermonkey · 05/03/2008 10:48

dior - don't panic about the bracelet, I think it's really nice, and I'm sure your friend will love it (if not she's an ungrateful cow bag )

JG - my dad asked me to shorten some jeans for him, I also laughed. Men, they are foolish.

Thank you whizzz for keeping an eye out for me. I looked everywhere I could think of, and found the normal ones, but not those with a top hole. Hope you're feeling better today.

Meri - lovely stuff, as always

Those bracelets are lovely, I have bracelet envy!
I have cabin fever, dd still at home (I am sending her back tomorrow as I caught her skipping in the kitchen). So tomorrow I am going out, at the stage where I am sick of the sight of the house.
Have picked up a couple of UFOs (crochet bags that I haven't finished, been in my stash box for ages), finished knitting the Barbie dress but I really ought to seam it up (hate seaming). Need to get the sewing machine down and make a start on my knitting bag that I want to make too. I want to use my eyelet tool that my mum gave me to put holes in a strip to sew to the bag. So that I can put the wool through them iyswim. AND I need to sew elastic to the lining too so I have a knitting needle holder inside the bag. Ideas, ideas...maybe I ought to put them into action.

Whizzz · 05/03/2008 11:25

GM Look here

not sure what colour you are after

lucykate · 05/03/2008 11:51

i really must do some blogging and check out what everyone has been up to. i'm having a lazy day, just dropped dh off at station, he's off to london, a portrait of his is being unveiled later today, then he's got some meetings to go to and discuss whether or not he is going to become the next president of the royal society of portrait painters in july

just been round charity shops again, 2 wool jumpers in washing machine felting, then have to go for a smear (yuk) this afternoon!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 05/03/2008 12:48

lucykate - i had mine a couple of weeks ago and they are much more bearable now as they've changed how they do them

and relax

you must have very classy charity shops where you live - i've never found a wool jumper and i have looked!

Gingermonkey · 05/03/2008 13:11

Whizzz - MWAH - you're fab !!!!!

LK - only the finest quality acrylic in my local charity shops, must reet be posh where you live, eh? Excellent news about DH - that's a fancy thing to have on your CV, isn't it?! Fab!

meridian · 05/03/2008 13:28

I found one wool scarf in one of my local charity shops.. 100% wool in a teal blue ish color... with some strange fuzzy white stripes.. i tried to felt it... honest but it just didn't do anything... but my washing machine is EVIL.. i tell you evil... everything else in the charity shops round this way is the finest bobbiliest of acrylics you ever did see...

obviously I don't know what i was going to do with it had it actually felted.. that whole being sewing inept...

Whizzz · 05/03/2008 18:10

lucykate · 05/03/2008 19:13

how's this for impressive, i've just sat and watched the online etsy update for a store called littlebirds, 17 items went up for sale and sold out in about 6 minutes

couldn't afford to buy anything, just wanted to see what her pricing was like
