Ooh Meryl was it you who didn't have a Drops stockist close to you? My DM has just told me that Purple Sheep wools will post out samples!

Maybe you'll get inspiration from sitting comfortably on your new sofa sophs! How long do you have to wait for it? We're waiting for a hall table that supposedly is arriving at the end of the month and I can't wait!

sophs29 · 17/11/2021 14:43

@FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack I hope so! We were told it will arrive in the warehouse on the 19th, but we'll hear before then to arrange a delivery date! So I'm being very optimistic that it will arrive within the next week but who knows! We finally treated ourself to a decent one so I'm so excited 😂
I hope your table comes soon too! I can't believe it's almost the end of November already!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 17/11/2021 15:04

Oh my god. Due to a perfect storm of delayed parcels arriving all at once and some spilled juice, I just flashed my postman who was bringing me wool. I can never order online again Blush

Oh Flavia I’m sorry but that’s made me howl with laughter. I don’t suppose you need to buy him a Christmas present though this year! Wink

sophs hopefully your sofa arrives soon and hopefully you’ve ordered a big enough one to dump your craft stuff one. We ordered a 3 seater and an armchair just before I started crocheting. I sit at one end of the 3 seater and the rest of the couch is given over to my crochet pile. Unless we have guests, then I have to tidy it away 😒 which is why I don’t invite people over anymore 😂

sophs29 · 17/11/2021 15:39

Hahahaha @FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack bet you've made his day! At least you have wool to try and take your mind off it 😂

Yes @InTheNightWeWillWish we've ordered quite a large corner sofa and foot stool with storage, the lady in the shop kept saying about how we'll be storing all the boys toys in it..as soon as we got out of the shop I made sure DP knew the storage was for my crochet stuff 😂😂 any news on your induction? ☺️

lazylinguist · 17/11/2021 15:41

Flavia Shock Grin Surely this can only be a good thing - he will be hurrying to bring your parcels as quickly as possible in future!

Yeah, he'll be flinging my post over the fence and legging it in future in case I pop out at him again BlushGrin Mortified...

On the up side, my parcel contents are lovely and a competition I forgot I entered sent me a waterproof phone case Grin

lucysmam · 17/11/2021 16:20

That made me chuckle Flavia 🤣

I'd love a new sofa. Can't see it happening for a good while mind 🤷‍♀️ I'm about ready to give up looking for a better job for a while and just stick with what I have. It's so disheartening when you hear nothing back from anywhere.

Anyway; second house is assembled but I was just browsing the rest of the patterns on my phone; and it seems I've sewn it together, and therefore assembled it, the wrong way out 🤦‍♀️🤣 I just think this one was not meant to be a success 🤯

Never mind, on with the base of the mansion tomorrow, hopefully it'll be blocking by the weekend.

*Ignore the randomness in the pics; I've got neckers drying for a Guide day out & dd2's left stuff scattered about for a change 🙄

Wow @FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack absolutely beautiful! Also I Just received a date for the sofa delivery, the 25th of this month!

@lucysmam that little house is stunning! I'd call it a huge success!

CrochetBug · 17/11/2021 16:53

@lucysmam that little house is adorable. I don't think anyone would know it was inside out!

Omg@FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack Grin I don't know who'd be more horrified if that was me, me or the postman! That fibre is gorgeous.

I'd love a new sofa. I hate mine so much. It's too big for my house and I don't like it, I don't even find it comfy. I 'inherited' it when my ex moved in and I joked that he'd have to leave it if broke up. Hmm

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 17/11/2021 16:54

Woohoo sophs! Nice one on the crochet storage dibs too Grin

Oh, that's beautiful lucysmam!

InTheNightWeWillWish · 17/11/2021 16:59

Sophs when the dogs was delivered, I’d been doing crochet a few months. I told DH I’d keep my yarn contained to the storage ottoman. That was a lie! Grin The storage ottoman is now for WIPs I’m not working on, the sofa is for WIPs I’m actually working on and the cupboard under the stairs is where the rest of my yarn lives! Blush Induction still scheduled for Friday and so I’m mostly trying to make sure my induction is as successful as possible, so lots of raspberry leaf tea. One of the dogs tracked a stone in which popped my ball and I tried cleaning the floor of the shower the other day but I got stuck 😂 so I think it’ll be lots of walking. Ended up on the monitor again today. I was fine until the midwife didn’t like my answer and then ended up staying in for monitoring. The big question is whether I take some crochet with me to keep me occupied, I’ve got a blanket that only uses one ball of wool so no need to take scissors or all the hooks.

Flavia those are gorgeous colours. It looks so soft and fluffy.

Lucysmam I think the cottage looks great. There’ll probably only be you who knows it’s inside out so you can probably get away with it.

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 17/11/2021 17:17

Oh no InTheNight, not too long to go, will keep fingers crossed for you! It was such a relief when I was induced with DS2, he'd kept us worried since 20 weeks and I just wanted him out since he wasn't doing too well in! I think I took a hat WIP to my induction but I was mostly away with the fairies on codine and didn't manage any 😂

lazylinguist · 17/11/2021 17:33

I hadn't learned to knit or crochet yet when I had my dc. What a waste - I could have got so much done while on maternity leave! (Well, the 1st maternity leave anyway- for the 2nd one I had a toddler to look after as well, so not so much time!)

sophs29 · 17/11/2021 19:15

@InTheNightWeWillWish oh no I found my ball so helpful! I went over 10 days (I think) with DS2 and tried absolutely everything, I think the only thing that actually helped was going on a massive walk the day before and then my labour started properly at 2am and he was born 5:29am!

CrochetBug · 17/11/2021 19:29

@InTheNightWeWillWish with DS1 I was told to eat fresh pineapple, I ate nearly a whole one and went into labour that night.

With DS2 I tried everything. They did a stretch and sweep when I was 10 days overdue and said my cervix was so tightly closed it was like I wasn't pregnant. I went into labour that night and gave birth within 2 hours Grin

My mum always says "do what you did to get in that way" although my friend says it's more effective if it's swallowed Blush

Oysterbabe · 17/11/2021 20:50

It's a beautiful house lucysmam it looks perfect.

With DD my inlaws had dragged me out on a hike up loads of massive hills and my waters broke that evening. I was only 35 weeks so it wasn't ideal. I did more resting towards the end with DS and went into labour after a spicy curry. Almost certainly a coincidence considering I was 40+4 but worth a go.

lucysmam · 17/11/2021 21:59

Thank you all. I am really pleased with it. Still a little bit annoyed with myself because after I posted about it being inside out, I found a note to myself that I'd pinned it with the right side facing up so I was looking at it, so I'd remember to fold it the other way 🙄🤣

InTheNightWeWillWish · 17/11/2021 22:00

Thanks everyone.

crochetbug I can’t do the pineapple due to the gestational diabetes! I’ve managed to eat pineapple (my favourite fruit) once in this pregnancy. First 20 weeks I didn’t like the taste, which triggered a complete hormonal breakdown quite early on followed by a lot of sulking, Then one day I was in the office and grabbed lunch from Tesco and fancied pineapple, I had a lunch of chicken and stuffing sandwich, pineapple and orange juice. As I finished my lunch they rang to tell me I had gestational diabetes and all of those were now banned 🤦‍♀️😂 We’ve tried the what got baby in there, along with 70 million support pillows to really set the mood 😂 I think I’ll pass on the other option though…

I’m also eating ghost chilli ketchup with most meals, it’s a 9/10! I’m 38 weeks and being induced early due to the diabetes and my own anxiety now. So I’m not really expecting anything to work but I’m just trying the various tricks in the hope it makes induction a bit more likely to be a success.

oysterbabe I live in the east of England and so hill climbing isn’t going to happen unless I drive for several hours and then I’ll get stuck behind a tractor! I suppose I could try climbing a tractor - that’s about the highest thing round here!

sophs29 · 18/11/2021 07:46

Aww @InTheNightWeWillWish all will be okay, I'm so excited for you! Have you made a blanket for your baby to come home with? 😍 I'm also in the east of england! I thought most people on this thread lived up north or further away! 😂

Oysterbabe · 18/11/2021 08:45

I'm in the West Country but my family all live in the King's Lynn area.

Oysterbabe · 18/11/2021 11:20

I'll finish my teddy bear today, I just have half an arm to finish. I was starting to get yarnxiety as yarn I've ordered for my next planned project still hadn't arrived. It has just arrived, phew! It's a lovely pink, perfect for my planned pig. I'm a bit nervous about this pattern as it looks a bit advanced for me but I plan to take my time and give it a shot.

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 18/11/2021 11:41

You're properly hooked now Oysterbabe Grin bad pun intended Wink

I'm convinced a man came up with that logic CrochetBug Grin

I'm moving onto Christmas gifts to get them out of the way so I can go back to my stuff and my SIL would like this for Christmas www.instagram.com/reel/CWWFVTIjUKT/?utm_medium=copy_link So I bought the pattern and you have to crochet a big mop of hair using faux fur type yarn then....

give him a haircut

so it looks like proper hair Grin I can't decide if it's genius or madness. I might get DH to put his lockdown hair cutting skills to use on this one...

Oysterbabe · 18/11/2021 12:03

Wow he's amazing Flavia 😍

CrochetBug · 18/11/2021 12:15

@FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack I'm sure it was a man. I think she said her DH "read it somewhere" Wink

@sophs29 I'm in the South East. I thought everyone else was up north too Grin
