I've finished the border on my blanket and have started doing tassels. I think I want them a bit less widely spaced than this, so I'm going to add more and then do the other end.

Well done lazy, it looks so classy with the neutral scheme. I think a bit more fringe will be nice but I think fringe is also in the same categories as pom-poms - can you ever have enough? My CAL is still a bit of an assault on the senses Grin but I’m glad I did it as I’ve been sat with it round my shoulders for the last few days or folded over my knees if I have a video call).

My dragons finally cleared customs and made it to my in-laws. Austrian customs were very perplexed by the box of crochet dragons and their eggs! In-laws also picked their correct dragon. DH said it didn’t matter if FIL ended up with MIL’s dragon. Don’t worry, I rolled my eyes hard at him but his parents worked it out Grin

lazylinguist · 08/04/2021 22:33

Aww - I'm sure they love their dragons and eggs! Well, who wouldn't want a dragon with a dragon egg?! I certainly would. Grin

@lazylinguist that blanket is stunning! Love the neutral colours and agree on the more tussles front.

sophs29 · 09/04/2021 10:41

@lazylinguist that's very impressive! I love the grey and white and the tassels are lovely!

@InTheNightWeWillWish glad the dragons got to their new home safely Grin

lucysmam · 09/04/2021 11:25

That's brilliant lazy, I agree it needs more tassles too!

I'm just about to finish the second sleeve of the cardi in peace. The girls seem to be avoiding me since I suggested they put some clothes on and come for a walk to the shop with me before lunch 🤣🙄

Myshitisreal · 09/04/2021 15:06

@inthenightwewillwish that blanket's lovely. I've never put tassels on, is it easy enough?

@lucysmam I think it was you mahjong the blanket for your little girl it's gorgeous.

I now am the proud owner of this pattern www.etsy.com/uk/listing/806554353/dragonfly-hide-n-seek-crochet-shawl and have ordered drops to make it for mum. My first wool warehouse order is in! The pattern is in metres so working out the wool was a nightmare. We just don't speak that language in the uk 🤷‍♂️

Buntyforgirls · 09/04/2021 16:56

@lazylinguist, how gorgeous is your blanket! How clever .

lucysmam · 09/04/2021 17:21

Ooh Myshitisreal that's so pretty 😍I've been browsing patterns too but there are videos for pretty much the same thing on youtube so I might have a watch of one of those first.

I'm so excited; the sleeves are both on the cardigan & I've started the bottom border. I was hoping to get a despatch email for the patch today but nothing so far (but then, Errol's flies that I ordered last Sunday haven't arrived so maybe I'm expecting too much 🤷‍♀️)

Looks lovely @lazylinguist

InTheNightWeWillWish · 09/04/2021 18:03

myshitisreal it’s lazy who was doing the tassels but I have attached tassels before. It’s quite easy, even from a newbie point of view but I’m not going to be able to explain it properly Grin you can add tassels like fringe as in this video or you can make a tassel that is more like a curtain tassel and you make those in a similar way to pom-poms. I love the dragonfly pattern. I saw a blanket with the dragonfly pattern and it’s so pretty. What colour have you ordered for your yarn?

m.youtube.com/watch?v=WTu856Bg2Ao

lucysmam it’s looking good!

lazy well done. Blanket looks great. Now onto your jumper?

sophs29 · 09/04/2021 20:31

@lucysmam that cardi is so nice! I normally find Etsy sellers are really quick to post things so hopefully you receive the patch soon!

@lazylinguist I love it!! how much yarn did you have left over? - I know you ordered quite a few balls Grin

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 10/04/2021 09:05

That looks amazing lazy! I love it!

Nice work lucysmam, I'm curious, did you leave a pattern review? Grin

I've been backing up my Ravelry library into a database this week. I've been meaning to for about a year and finally got round to sorting out my download folder of patterns. I'm quite pleased with it, I've got tables for patterns, stash, projects, spinning projects and I'm going to add one for dye records. It's not going to replace Ravelry for me for searching for free patterns but I do like being able to tweak the views and layout as I like.

lucysmam · 10/04/2021 09:31

Flavia, not yet; I was going to finish the whole thing first then leave one.

It sounds like you've had a busy week getting organised! I like organising and sorting projects as much as the actual making whatever I'm up to.

Does anyone know any websites similar to Stitch Fiddle for designing charts? It doesn't work on my laptop & phone screen is frustratingly small

NiceCardigan · 10/04/2021 10:03

The blanket looks lovely @lazylinguist

I’ve finished my KAL cushion just need to buy some buttons for the back. My wool warehouse order arrived yesterday for my summer sweater. I was going to finish some other things before I started knitting it but I absolutely needed to check if the colours went together!

@NiceCardigan that cushion is really good! And I love the colour combo on your jumper!! You've done so much in such a short space of time!

lazylinguist · 10/04/2021 18:26

Blush Ahem. I may have loads of several balls left! Luckily though, the other project I'm planning is this , so I shall have need of a load of random dk. I've got some left over from my Seaside Stashbusting Blanket too, plus the usual odds and ends of various kinds. It will be the first genuine stashbuster project I've ever done - I always have to buy yarn for projects!

I'm going for my first visit to the lovely yarn shop in Lancaster next week to buy tye wool for my jumper. I'd almost changed my mind about doing it, because it's going to be pretty expensive and I'm feeling a bit skint because I've had so little work over the past year, but dh said 'Don't be silly - just buy it out of the joint account!' Smile.

Do The Range sell yarn? Our local-ish one is about a half hour walk away so I'm considering a walk there next weekend instead of town & I'll nip to town on Friday (depending how busy folks report it being) for knickers & tights for the girls, from Primarni.

I didn't get as far as I'd hoped today. Took me a long time to work out where my sc along the inner edges need to be - note to self; stitch marker in the top of each turning chain when dd2 decides she wants one too Grin. Hopefully tomorrow 🤞

NiceCardigan your cushion's a pretty colour. Will you make any more to go with it?

lazylinguist · 10/04/2021 18:38

That blanket's lovely. I've never put tassels on, is it easy enough?

It's very easy! For each tassel I wrapped wool around a book 6 times, then snipped the bottom, leaving me with 6 lengths doubled over. Then you poke the crochet hook through a stitch on the edge of the blanket, hook the bunch of lengths of yarn at the middle point where they are doubled over, pull them through far enough to give a spacious loop, then pass the cut ends through the loop and pull tight. Trim ends if necessary. Hey presto - a tassel!

Thanks @sophs29. The jumper seems too be knitting up quick but it isn’t the weather for cotton just yet.

I think I have enough of the yarn to make a second cushion @lucysmam so was thinking of trying one of the other designs. The one I’ve made is supposed to have tassels so I could follow lazy’s instructions!

sophs29 · 10/04/2021 19:46

Oh @lazylinguist I love that! Would be perfect to store DS's go to toys! I've saved it too! I don't think I own a 9mm hook though! I'll have to look through my little pencil case crochet bag! (I've made my mum and all her friends knitting bags but I haven't made myself one yet)!
And how lovely of your DH! My DP can't really complain as I just compare my £25 yarn order to his £160 cricket helmet 🙄😂

Oh bless him! It’s been a hard year for you lot with your lockdowns, we’ve had it a lot easier where I live, I think it’ll be lovely for you to be able to go to an actual bricks and mortar shop to treat yourself.

I went and bought this lovely smooshy yarn yesterday, I already have it in pink but not sure what I will make yet

Oooh that looks so squishable, @petridishmystery!
Yes it will be nice to go to a bricks and mortar shop! Might treat the dc and go and sit outside at a café while we're in town. Ds deserves a treat - he had 6 teeth taken out yesterday and is having another 6 out this Friday! Shock

Oh that's lovely NiceCardigan! That kind of makes me want to make one now, I love the colour and texture...

lucysmam same here, I like the organising and planning almost as much as the doing Smile my local range has a whole wall of wool in the craft section. I can't remember what types though! It has been literally years since I've been in at this point! Thanks covid...

Omg, your poor DS lazy, that's horrendous Shock
