I'm stuck feeding Velcro Baby and can barely MN for all his squirming and fiddling. Let me share your projects so i can at least admire something constructive. Sad. I don't care if you knit, sew or do something entirely different.

I'm about to embark on attempting to make a picture for a friend who recently got engaged. Seeing her tomorrow evening and only just decided today that I was going to make something so will have to cobble it together tonight.

After work today I'm going to see if I can get a cheapish pretty picture frame from TK Maxx and then do either an applique picture to go in it or a paper hearts etc picture a la the pictures you often see on NotontheHighStreet. If it all goes tits up then I can always pop to M & S at lunchtime tomorrow for flowers and prosecco instead Grin I just wish I'd been more organised and come up with the idea at the weekend as I'd have had a bit more time than just this evening!

Almost finished a cardy for going back to work when I finish my maternity leave in a couple of months. I think it's the best value project ever, the wool was just £5 from Aldi. Just got to choose between long and short sleeved :)

flubba · 29/06/2012 17:11

Ooh just made a baby bib which your velcro baby might like when he gets less stuck :)

MidnightKnitter · 29/06/2012 23:30

ooh those bids don't look too hard although i'm not much of a seamstress.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 29/06/2012 23:46

Making fun Dio Dos Muertos jewellery and trying to avoid working on a really fiddly commisioned bracelet.

flubba · 01/07/2012 09:39

They're dead easy midnight - no special turning or anything needed. And you don't need to add your own personalisation if you're not feeling too brave...

thebetachimp · 01/07/2012 10:08

I'm making a baby jumper and hoping that this will be the one that I actually finish.

I ran out of wool halfway through the second sleeve and have distracted myself by making pompoms.

I don't know whether I'm having a boy or a girl yet (11w), so may lose the pompoms if it's a boy...

Siikibam · 03/07/2012 23:24

Two corner to corner afghans (thought I'd lost the first!), two bracelets, a purse, and portrait.

I've just made a jewellery set last night - which I had meant to photograph & then forgot & its now gone - I am so crap at remembering for this blogging larkHmm - but it was purple wire, with various sizes of iridescent pinks, purples, red & pearl beads, some diamante floral ones & a big lace cut out wooden heart for the front of necklace, letters spelling out DDs friends name mixed in on the bracelet.

I'm now trying to get my migrainous brain to kick into gear as I still need to design/make a dress to go with it - I have lovely graduated fine multi stripe cloth in the same colours, but ATM can't figure out what style to go for, for a 10 yr old muslim girl, not too traditional, but still needs to be modest & her Mum worries she's very slightly chunky, so flattering for her shape too Confused my DD keeps telling me what to make & has me very confused as its not what I would think of as suitableHmm

agendabender · 04/07/2012 11:55

a delicious angel top in bright green with pink stripes at the bottom and on the bell sleeves for a friend who just had her first. I only have a little boy so far so seize any opportunity to make girlie stuff!

Ladyface · 04/07/2012 13:48

Far too many - I get too distracted by Ravelry patterns and various crafty blogs and want to start new stuff straight away.

Chunky knit cardigan in dark grey www.sirdar.co.uk/designs/womens/waistcoats/9238

Poncho for dd in purple - http://www.sirdar.co.uk/designs/babiesDesigns/hatsbootiesmitts/1516 it's taken about 2 years as I ran out of wool, discovered it was discontinued so shoved in the back of a cupboard, then managed to find some on ebay and have finally picked it up again!

Have just finished a tank top for ds but his head is too big I've knitted the neck too small so it is currently hiding in a drawer.

Am also teaching myself to crochet and am looking longingly at the ripple blankets and granny squares on the attic24 blog. I need to finish the round stripy cushion cover from Cute and Easy Crochet first though and know what I am actualy doing!

Stitchthis · 04/07/2012 21:17

I'm surrounded by UFO's but then that's my modus operandi....latest on the blocks in no particular order are

Lacey shawl on Ravelry here
Needle felted cushion in the style of this
Repairing an old quilt
Backing and quilting another quilt I made 8 years ago
Umpteen refashions of charity shop clothes I've collected
A new curtain skirt for my crafty table to hide all the tat collectibles I accumulate
A mini dolls bed
Too many other things I am too embarrassed to document

patchworkchick · 05/07/2012 07:55

I'm making a cushion cover for a friend, as a surprise gift for her newly decorated sitting room.

rockinhippy · 05/07/2012 12:04

I'm now starting a cushion as a end of year leaving present for DDs teacher

ThisIsNotWhatIWasAfter · 05/07/2012 23:29

I have managed to needle felt a couple if little people for Ds1. They kind of go with the playmat i made him. Just went to get my spinning wheel out and she's squeaking and creaking like my knees so she'll need some tlc before i can get anything done. Sad. I too am fond of a UFO or twelve . The ripple blankets have made me want to learn to crochet but there just arent enough hours in a day.

i'm not very good with sewing and knitting. i like making jewelry and cards and stuff like that i;ve jusy finished making bookmarks for wedding favours for a friend and am now starting on personalised keyrings for the guests for my sons christening. already make the invites,

It's nice to do something creative isn't it.

ThisIsNotWhatIWasAfter · 06/07/2012 09:59

Last ight I finished a hobby horse for DS' 3rd Birthday next month. It was made with a wooden pole and a men's walking sock to give the horse's head so even I with the craft skills of a hippo could get a reasonable result. Looking at the finished picture on the web link though, our horse could maybe do witha bit more hair down the back of his neck. Hmm

DS should love it though. He's already riding brooms round the kitchen as a horse and the hobby horse should be less distruptive and shorter!
