Bit of Damascene moment when I looked at my knitting tonight... the wool is wrong as my blog says, it really is butt ugly. So fess up, I cannot be the only one who has looked down at their needles and shuddered at what they have seen...

I think you must have meant to link to this rather than your really lovely elephant dress.

I quite like the colours - shades of rose and brown? Could be worse, could be this.

Finish the socks then dye them with a wool dye or indigo. The pattern is nice.

There is a whole thread on one of the Ravelry forums where people show off their Ugly Projects. Your socks don't come anywhere near closet some of the horrors I found in just the first few pages :)

I feel your pain. My stash of yarn and patterns is all about the reality often not being as great as the image in my head. Latest project was like that-I soldiered on for the good feeling of finishing and the rhythm of the knitting. A bad project finished, for me, feels better than a bad project abandoned. But only a bit....

you are not alone not by a long shot. I have a collection of badly spun, badly dyed, badly sewn up and badly knitted and ill planned projects.I don't know how to link so you'll have to trust me that i am responsible for some of the ugliest crafting ever Blush. Even some of the things i like always have something wrong with them. Sad
