Following on from nickelhasababy's thread about sewing machines - what was the last thing you made with yours?

The last two things I've made were a dressing-up 'flying-suit' for DS1 (age 6) and a dressing up Lifeboatman's costume for DS2 (age 4) cos he'd grown out of the last one I'd made him.

A dozen bandana bibs for my shop.
A couple of VHC sunhats.
A teeny weeny sunhat for my friend's week old baby :o so she matches her two big sisters.
A shirred sundress for DD - first time I've tried shirring and I love it!

Next week I'm due to take part in a , but my jelly roll hasn't arrived yet .

Flubba · 21/04/2012 23:02

OnlyWantsOneTwoAndThree · 22/04/2012 07:51

Today I am going to make some Black Apple Head Dolls. As soon as I work out how to print the darn pattern at 150% Hmm

Byeckerslike · 22/04/2012 07:57

A padded cover for our portable dvd player out of some left over curtain fabric.
Before that it was a kindle cover and a pretty notebook cover for mothers day

FlouncyMcFlouncer · 22/04/2012 15:32

OK, I've had another go at the memory dog and I'm quite pleased with it this time. Photo is on my profile, I'd love some feedback if anyone can be arsed!

bebemoojem · 22/04/2012 15:35

Byeckerslike · 22/04/2012 15:59

IDismyname · 22/04/2012 16:06

I am still making a pair of pyjamas for Dh that I began in October. I know he won't wear them, so my enthusiasm is nil!

Next up is a pair of curtains for ds' bedroom. Fabric cut out, but thats all. Need to get lining bought.

ToryLovell · 22/04/2012 17:53

Flouncy it is gorgeous. And OnlyWants - some lovely things on your fb

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 22/04/2012 18:43

Today, I made a lined skirt out of fabby orange dinosaur fabric for me, finished a maxi dress for me and made a smaller version for dd and a baby wrap for my business. I sew a lot!!

FlouncyMcFlouncer · 22/04/2012 19:06

Thanks Byeckerslike and ToryLovell - I put it on my sock monkey Fb page and it's sold already so that's gratifying!

Eddie, I would love an embroidery machine

OnlyWantsOneTwoAndThree · 22/04/2012 19:30

Ive made an iphone case this afternoon :) here what do you lot think?
My phone sits in it really nicely & Im actually chuffed with it first thing in ages thats made me smile

FlouncyMcFlouncer · 22/04/2012 19:33

Love it!

DontCallMeBaby · 22/04/2012 19:38

I'm halfway through a bunting kit my mum gave me - halfway sounds good, but unfortunately I've made three out of five plain simple bunts, and only two out of the five Union flag ones, which employ ribbons to make the various crosses, and have reduced me to a state of screaming frustration. I really don't think sewing is my thing (knitted bunting is more me, can be made using half a brain cell whilst devoting the rest of my brain to watching Homeland).

Apron with adorable kitten pattern for DD

rockinhippy · 23/04/2012 12:20

a batch Summer holiday clothes for DD, Myself, included several dresses, sun tops etc & a pair of shorts for DH, for our recent holiday - I'm currently finishing of the bits I ran out of time on damned overlocker unthreaded & I was too knackered by then to want to tackle sorting it out

Poledra · 23/04/2012 12:33

An Egyptian costume for DD1, for school project. Spent a whole afternoon putting lots of different types and colours of stitching around the neckline as a 'collar'

alison222 · 23/04/2012 12:34

A red riding hood cape for DD for world book day. I so cannot sew , and we used an internet pattern so I was sticking pieces of a4 paper together to make it up.
I was lazy as she was only going to wear it once so didn't hem the unevenly cut seams, but she was delighted with it.
I only wish I was more accomplished and dare try some real clothes

chubbleigh · 23/04/2012 13:17

A quilt out of Christmas fabric, I gave it to school for the Christmas craft fair, they got £70 for it so I was happy with that. I liked it so much I made another one for me and then my mum nicked it!

Pending: Jack from Titanic dress-up costume, curtains for the front room, cushion covers. I have to wait until the mood takes me, I bloody hate making curtains, I don't know why I do it to myself.

DutchOma · 23/04/2012 13:53

Pajama trousers for dgrandson. He has very long legs and nothing fitted him. I made them out of an old sheet.

HipHopOpotomus · 23/04/2012 22:13
