Following on from nickelhasababy's thread about sewing machines - what was the last thing you made with yours?

The last two things I've made were a dressing-up 'flying-suit' for DS1 (age 6) and a dressing up Lifeboatman's costume for DS2 (age 4) cos he'd grown out of the last one I'd made him.

A small pink linen bunny.

I am in the process of making summer dresses for my four year old daughter. I have made about nine so far, I really ought to stop but I have bought so much pretty fabric.

Veils for belly dancers with my new, fabulous 3mm hemming foot. I love it so much!

I'm making lots of quilts/wall-hangings atm but none are finished. I'm not sure I remember the last thing I finished sewing Blush

FannyPriceless · 21/04/2012 20:44

Curtains. 3 months ago.

bruffin · 21/04/2012 20:52

This shirt for DS 16 because he was going to a fancy dress party. It was the first thing i made in years and was really pleased how it turned out. Made it in black with the frilly sleeve but plain neck.

Flubba · 21/04/2012 20:58

A little purse with a zip and some bunting for my sister's new nephew. I'm sitting here working out how to improve on the little purse/bag combo.

bruffin · 21/04/2012 20:58

managed to link to a picture of ds in it

Moomoomie · 21/04/2012 20:58

I wouldn't be to envious bran. She will wear whatever I put on her, but within five minutes is covered in mud and grass. TBH that's why I made some dresses as the price the shops were charging was ridiculous.

DilysPrice · 21/04/2012 21:00

Curtains - 'twas also the first thing I made. Am v proud of myself and will be scouting this thread for ideas for other good stuff I can do. Brixton market is full of shops selling fabulous cheap fabric and I lust after all of it, but don't know what to do with it - I need inspiration (don't have the talent to do proper tailoring yet.

CMOTDibbler · 21/04/2012 21:00

This week ds and I have made new curtains for his room and a Tree Fu Tom tabard for him. The tabard was considerably easier than the lined curtains for a joint project

Moomoomie · 21/04/2012 21:00

Flubba. I used exactly the same fabric. It is so bright and colourful.

MimsieD · 21/04/2012 21:01

dribble bibs that still need some top stitching [sigh]

Sandbags for dd's model Anderson shelter and finished off two 1940's style aprons for her school production.

A peasant top, as a gift, last week

Latin skirt in neon green

umiaisha · 21/04/2012 21:37

A cape to transform DS into a persian prince for dress up day at nursery and a Liberty print skirt for DD

ValiumQueen · 21/04/2012 21:39

My wedding dress 7 years ago. Been busy having babies since.

ToryLovell · 21/04/2012 21:51

Last project - a costume for DD for world book day - chopped a blouse and school dress about to make Alice in Wonderland, so not taxing.

Work in progress - a dance dress for DD - has given me many grey hairs and broken my 25 year old sewing machine

PigeonPie · 21/04/2012 21:55

Lovely to read all these - keep them coming. Great to see that sewing machines are still being used!
