sorry, no - it needs to be one of the set wools. Maybe order online instead?

SwivellingDicksTidyWife · 26/02/2012 11:27

No patons/sirdar wools have the same mix of fibres and same tension as the Roan and Debbie Bliss wools. Do they definitely have no Rowan Cashsoft? My local Hobbycraft does have a selection of Rowan but not all types.

SwivellingDicksTidyWife · 26/02/2012 11:28

Rowan

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2012 11:35

Mine doesn't either. Try John Lewis or online, or give me a more to check because there's a couple of mn'ers you could pm. I'll go check Thanks

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2012 11:40

Right! Angelpantser has 10 balls of lime that she won on Ebay to share. Lydiathetattooedlady stocks it in her wool shop and is fab at quick posting. If you want a website, lots of folk recommend cucumberpatch for good service

Thanks
KnottyLocks · 26/02/2012 11:43

If you place an order with Cucumberpatch today, they'll post it tomorrow and you'll have it on Tuesday.

Dingle · 26/02/2012 12:08

I am really hoping to help knit and was also hoping for a donation but what has Angelpanster got to share and how much does she want for it please?

I have been looking around for bargains but really just want to get knitting again! x

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2012 12:13

She bought 10 balls of lime green on Ebay and afaik is looking for a tenth of the price she paid plus the postage. Drop her a pm or she'll be drowning in green wooliness forevermore

KnottyLocks · 26/02/2012 12:18

Dingle, Pistey is matching you with a donor. Smile

LovesBeingWearingSkinnyJeans · 26/02/2012 12:20

Hmm lime wool, I'm starting to crochet would it be any good for tgat?

Dingle · 26/02/2012 12:24

LOL, OK. I'll hold on. I did say I had itchy fingers didn't I! I haven't knitted for ages but now I have a reason to! x

I have a loft FULL of wool, I really shouldn't buy more! Blush

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2012 12:45

Loves, all wool is good wool but the stuff we're using for the blanket is particularly gorgeous. Give me a mo and I'll link threads...

DaffodilsAhoy · 26/02/2012 13:42

Right, I've ordered from cumberpatch - I started with three balls of Debbie bliss and somehow, mysteriously my order ended up £30 Blush Grin

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 26/02/2012 13:46

Daffy Grin

I can't wait to see this blanket, it's going to be lovely. A lovely snuggly blanket for the wee boy with lots of lovely thoughts of his mum stitched/hooked into it x

angelpantser · 26/02/2012 13:55

My ears are burning!

I've sent out one ball of wool and I'm posting 2 more out tomorrow so I'm happy if 2 more to go to itchy fingers. It's Debbie Bliss DK in a lovely lime/apple green. PM Pistey and she'll send me your addresses. I'd like to keep some to make a cardigan for my neice if that's not too selfish. Blush

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2012 14:17

Not at all, Angel, sorry if I'm inadvertently eroding your niece's cardi Blush

angelpantser · 26/02/2012 14:23

She's only 15 months old. I probably only need 3 or 4 balls Grin so I can easily spare 5 of my 10 balls for lovely crafters. I was a bit concerned that there would be too much of the same colour in the blanket, but I'm sure that you wonderful constructors can sort it out.

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2012 14:45

Nowt wrong with a couple of green stripes Wink

LovesBeingWearingSkinnyJeans · 26/02/2012 15:48

Well I can't do any yet so am more than happy to not take any if it's going to be used for a blanket.

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2012 15:55

Would you like to join in the blanket making, LovesBeing? Everyone's welcome - the finished blanket will be given to WubblyBubblys dh and 5yo d's to remind them of her. We can have the wool sent for you to make your square if you don't want to buy it, then just post it to KnottyLocks by the (yet to be disclosed) deadline and it'll go with all the others to be a "woolly hug" for the bereaved family.

RabidEchidna · 26/02/2012 16:04

Sorry for butting in but I have seen "blanket making" threads and wondered if it is only knitted ones as I would love to be of help but can not knit Blush I can however do patchwork, do you ever do patchwork quilts?

smartiesrule · 26/02/2012 16:08

I do patchwork quilts too

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2012 16:09

Knitted or crocheted. The first one I was involved with we had a fabric one running concurrently, but it was such a huge project to construct that one person simply couldn't do it. With wool, a few rows of double crochet and it's there.

If you feel you could take the project on, piggyback onto the blanket threads to see what interest there is Smile
