Sizzix Swop.

Just a thought after Christmas shall we have a sizzix die swop???

This is how it would work.

Basically you cut 50 sizzix die cuts that you have and then send them on to me with an SAE.

I will then sort out all the packs and send you die cuts that you dont have.

You would need to email me a list of dies that you have so you dont get duplicates and also a preference of colours that you would like.

I will send out emails to all that are taking part and give a list of colours, dies etc that people are short of.

This will take ages to sort out so bear with me!!!

Can all those who want to take part sign up by 5th Jan (if we get 10 names before this date then the swop will start earlier)

If anyone wants to take part in this swop, who does not have a sizzix then they are more than welcome, but they would need to send 10 packs of assorted fibres....each pack containing 4, three meter lengths of funky fibres (buy four assorted balls of wool and cut it into 10x 3 metre lengths, so each of the 10 bags would then contain 12 meteres of fibre)Does that make sense????

This swop would be open to the first 10 that join up. You will all recieve back a parcel which will contain an assortment of 50 die cuts and a pack of funky fibres.

All dies/fibres will need to be cut and posted by 20th Jan for the completion of the swop by 27th Jan.

ALPHABETS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SWOP.

So anyone up for it???

Can I just check, where it says 30 safety pins-white/pink/blue, do I do 30 in total or 30 of each?

The colours are suggestions, not definites as JM states 'beggars cant be choosers', however I wouldn't do a pram in black or burgundy, well unless someone asked. So if you have enough paper to do 20 pink 10 blue thats it really. I was very relieved as I don't have a lot of pastel shades.

Blimey how on earth did you sort all that lot out ! Its a good job I invested in a box of card from the Paper Mill - should have got A4 thought rather than A5!!
Will get cutting tomorrow !

So far I have done 40 car fronts and 30 prams and my poor little( like huge sausages really)arms and my palms hurt.

Well all I can say is to any of you on the weight loss thread, get a sizzix. I am knackered.

I need to get them posted tomorrow. have weighed the envelope and it weighs 130g so I thought of putting 90p stamps in for return. That's how much a 250g letter costs. How much did it cost you AQ (want to make sure I put enough in)

it cost about £1.20 but they were in 2 plastic take-away boxes then in a cardboard box surroundede by bubble wrap. after all my cutting i didn't want them to get bent

Right. I've put them in envelopes and then in a hardbacked cardboard envelope. Will stick 4 first class stamps int he envelope- that should be enough- if it's not then I'll have to paypal you some more dosh JM

Slow down you lot!! Had to finish off 2 baby cards today...just got the inserts to put in tomorrow now.

Just cut 60 doodle hearts tonight, have another 30 left to do before moving on to some thing else.
I am cutting up the rest of the piece of card as I go along too, so I have put about 10 little red and burgundy hearts in my stock box...all ready for Valentines Day!

Will get myself organised tomorrow and get down to some serious sizzixing!!

where do i go to get funky fibres?

Do i just buy normal wool or do i have to get specialist wool?

hi all, i am really sorry to say this but i will have to pull out. I didn't think it would be so many cuts when i signed up, thought it was gonna be a bit different.

I am thinking that i really may not have time to do all the cuts in one go, i have to do over 100, at this particular time with ds3 being so young and breastfeeding i cant plan for when i'll have quiet time. I am ever so sorry to do this now but i figure it's better to do it now rather than tell you all what die cuts i want cut have you all cut them and then pull out.

i haven't emailed you jm as i know you have alot on your mind at the moment.

please everyone keep my list as a reference and feel free to ask for cuts outside of this swap. i think the only requested die cuts that only i have the die for is the album cover and album inserts, could be wrong tho as i cant re-open the list my cpu is ill.

so sorry again and sorry for the looooong post.

jenk1 you can buy in packs or you can get it by the roll. i've seen some in material shops, pearsons and john lewis by the roll or by the metre.

Ive had a thought, if it makes it easier I could join in champs place to keep the numbers up? I dont have a die cutter but could contribute something else? Fibres or something else everyone fancies?

I'm just off to cut 30 birthday cakes ! Thats 60 candles + flames !! I didn't think it would be so many either Champs, I don't have huge stocks of card - some may have to be thicker paper - hope people don't mind.

I suppose we could keep the list up to date on the Yahoo Group then do direct swaps with each other - ie will you cut me 10 flowers for 5 cakes etc ??

Champs email your list to me and I will cut what I can just in case they are needed for the swap to continue.

Out of your list of dies I have;

bitty body
doll body
scallop tag combo

do you need to cut any of those?

By the way of future swaps I will happliy compile a list of who has what dies. I thought about updating it perhaps monthly, and emailing it out to those who are interested.
Would anyone be interested in this?

Dingle that is a very good idea. We can do our swops for the cost of postage instead of buying expensive diecuts or even dies just to make a few cuts.
