Hi me and a friend did our card stall at the school the other night. It was great fun to do and we had a glass of wine and didn't stop talking to people all night.I sold 15 cards at 1.50 each and all my packs of tags at £1 a pack. Not bad for 2 hours.I would definately do it again. We had loads of lovely compliments. Her cards were very different to mine very funky and modern with gorgeous embellishments on.Her alphabet beaded ones went down a storm.makes mental note on that for next timeNever done any of those before. She sold about 10 more cards than me but hey who's bitter? She was so apologetic it made me laugh bless her.I was just so pleased people liked mine enough to buy them. Can't wait to do another one now.Whizz you're next.Bet you really enjoy it.

Hi Whizz,my gift tags sold so well I sold them all and wished I'd made more packs.I did some packs of all occasions tags and some packs of xmas tags.Everso simple ones with punched stars with a gem on all the little bits that i needed to use up,some funky foam flowers some old postage stamps for mens ones etc.I put a few fancy ribbons on some but mostly used twine on them.12 for £1.I sold my cards for £1.50 each.Which I think was fine. Some were more.I made a little sign saying how much they were.I'm sure you'll have better luck next time.

Excellent ! They have basically left it up to me. See how much I sell & then make a 'suitable donation of whatever I think'.
I think I will follow your tips Layla & produce some gift tags

I've got a fair tomorrow, its kind of crept up on me. I have my stock ready but i should be printing up labels just now, not on here . Forgot to get my float orgainised today (again). I will have to try and persude my local P.O. to give me some bags of change.

champs · 12/11/2005 23:57

how did it go Skribble?

Skribble · 13/11/2005 17:06

Hi champs it went OK. I managed to borrow £10 from FIL to get some £1 coins in the morning. Had to pack the car in the pouring rain and then got there with hardly any time to set up as I passed 2 crashes and roadworks with a convoy system on route. Of course the rain came down really heavy again as I start to load up the trolley. Top tip always carry a couple of sheets of plastic and towels in case of down pours.

Too many scone people and toddlers (well it was a playgroup) to make much money. I don't have much prep for the stall now so I suppose what I made was for only 3 hrs work so its quite good really. The packs of stretchy animals sold well.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone elses stalls go.

champs · 14/11/2005 19:33

glad it went well
wasn't great weather was it.

Skribble · 15/11/2005 00:23

At least it was indoors, I did a Gala day and it was so windy we spent the whole day with someone hanging on to the gazebo, while sending friend to beg some rope from the cadets to add more guys to tie down. Next door stall eventually was persuded to take his down after half an hour of it swinging about on one leg. Thankfully we had the van parked along side so we could keep the roof on.

We...ell, I am sooooo excited I am now doing Christmas Bazaar on Sat and a Table Sale on Sun.

Asked if its all old people and was told that Bazaar Made 1500 in stall sales. They charge a fiveer or 10%. I agreed a fiver. Not all old people or scone eaters!!

Table Sale was last month and it's like an indoor boot sale. 900 people turned up. So they are doing it again.

Neeeeeeervous, must go gotta pick up littley.

Busy making up cards for my fayres next week...there must be easier ways to make money?????

UCM · 19/11/2005 14:51

We....ell. I made 36 quid and sold about 18 cards.
It wasn't a very good bazaar, not many stalls. It was in a special needs school and traffic was limited to mums/dads/occasional grandparent.

I am quite pleased really. Not bad for first time.

Whizzz · 19/11/2005 15:28

18 cards is 16 more than I sold at my first outing! Well done !

Reindior · 19/11/2005 18:41
