That can be arranged :) How do you make those prism bags? What would I need type into google? I haven't read a blog which I, one actually technically understand and two such a delight to read :)
So sorry I am a pregnant sop at the moment.

pipplin · 16/01/2011 20:26

Oh oh I found it, the linkie didn't appear on my phone but does on PC Could I hand sew them do you think?

pipplin · 16/01/2011 20:29

Oh dear I just read sed tutorial, it looks a tad too difficult for me :(

stewmaker · 16/01/2011 20:52

i just added you to my reader....i am struggling to find good sewing blogs from the uk and this is perfect, especially as i have just started to make bags Smile

Quiltingmoomin · 17/01/2011 19:04

Hurrah for crafty blogs! Dutifully added to my favourites list...

overmydeadbody · 17/01/2011 20:52

Oh pipplin, I'm sorry the prism pouch tutorial looks too hard for you, I promise it's really really really easy, but I wouldn't recommend hand-sewing it.

Thanks Stew and Quilting, nice to have supportive comments! I need to post more about sewing on the blog, the wallet tutorial will be coming soon, now that I have mastered it after two failed attempts.

I think it's a great idea to set yourself a challenge. Did you see A New Dress A Day? I was thinking of doing something similar to do with completing a project from every craft book I own (a lot) but i think I've got enough on my plate at the moment!

overmydeadbody · 17/01/2011 21:36

Oh yes Quilting, I did see a New Dress A day, that was great!

I think my challenge is rather unrealistic really, because life is going to get in the way isn't it? But there's nothing like the pressure of knowing others know your aims to get you to actually try to achieve them.

I like your idea of doig ng a project from every craft book you own, I should try that, I never seem to get round to actually doing the projects in the craft books I have, I just flick through them for inspiration and for the pretty pictures Grin

Life always gets in the way but at least you are giving it a go. Nice tutorials on this blog btw if you are looking for inspiration

Quiltingmoomin · 18/01/2011 21:36

your blog is great! super timing too-my ds was asking if he could make something with his dad and the thread holder looks perfect. I predict a teddy's bed in our future too! thank you

pipplin · 20/01/2011 21:02

OMDB, it's the classic scenario I'm afraid: it's not you, it's me. I don't have a sewing machine ortheability :(

The little birds, I could handsew those, do you think?

Quite looking forward to your bunting tutorial. So I can make some for DS' room.

overmydeadbody · 21/01/2011 15:00

pipplin you can definately handsew the little birds, the original instructions on spool sewing where for handsewing.

Give it s try!

Ok I shall give it a go. I need to get me some offcuts first but then I am away.
Sadly I have no fabric left, nothing at all. Well minus the forest green fleece I am using for my draft excluder.

hidinginthecupboard · 23/01/2011 07:34

Thanks - first page looks great - have bookmarked to explore when don't have small children nagging to play Thomas games...

solo · 26/01/2011 20:13

Love the shoe cubby! wish I had room for one :)

overmydeadbody · 26/01/2011 20:17

Coo-eee OVMDB! Oh adopted craft- motherhen :)
Crochet, I think I would like to start. I'm on my second draft excluder and I need a new project. I did enjoy knitting but could never get the hang of it really. I think crochet would be good, I could make a hat etc for the new arrival, a blanket?
Its that or cross sitch I guess.
Any thoughts?
(from anyone)
Tia :)

expatinscotland · 26/01/2011 21:36

I likey! Have added to my favs. :)

pipplin · 26/01/2011 21:37

I feel limited due to no sewing machine. I need a: 'on the sofa craft' I guess.

LadyBiscuit · 26/01/2011 21:38

I like it very much and it has reminded me to bully remind my nan that she said she'd give me her sewing machine

TitsalinaBumSquash · 26/01/2011 21:41

Gosh your talented!

Im very Envy I wish I was more naturally crafts, the willing is there but im cack handed.

I want a shoe cubby.. and a wallet... and some birds Grin

solo · 26/01/2011 22:32

Me too expat!

overmydeadbody · 27/01/2011 18:29

Aww you guys are very lovely. It means a lot to me that I have MN's approval Grin

Right, I am going to make it my mission to come up with more projects that don't require a sewing machine and that people with little confidence can try.

Titsalina I assure you I am cackhanded. My stitches are never straight.

Pipplin you should try crochet, than come back here and tell me how you get on, I have never tried it, it seems so complicated!
