He has gone through gender reassignment surgery and changed genders and is legally a woman. That is why he is in a woman's prison. His gender is registered in the prison system as female due to his legal status.

So basically a male who has mutilated himself. Canada is seriously batshit if they allow men like this in female prisons.

Whereas people, women, who have not 'changed gender' appear to not have the legally protected safe-place status of a women's only prison that women feminists like me fought all our fucking lives for.

He still shouldn't be in a women's prison because he is a man.

Ideally I think they should create a trans unit somewhere and house all the trans inmates there as they are both more vulnerable to being harmed in prison and there is a risk they will further harm others. However I don't think that will happen as it is considered discrimination.

Being housed in gender one identified with prison is the reality in Canada and it isn't going to change back so I don't think there is much point in debating what should or shouldn't happen when it has already happened. Now they need to make it as safe as possible.

For this particular case, he will be a risk no matter where he is housed. He is in maximum security and this is not a case of someone being trans to get to a woman's prison. He has been in the woman's prison since 2018. As long as he is in max security, I don't really care where they house him.

I just can't even begin to fathom how anybody came to the conclusion that this was an acceptable decision.

That is exactly what KPSS has been campaigning for. To make prisons as safe as possible for women inmates. This means not allowing male prisoners to be housed on the female estate.

This means not allowing transwomen in the female estate.
Especially transwomen who are sex offenders, rapists, paedophiles and murderers. You know - the ones who jump on the transgender bullshit bandwagon so that they can be housed with women. Real women.

Yes. I actually worked in Holloway prison some years ago and a women sex offender was in the general prison population.
She wasn't a 'cis" women though, any more than I am.

There is no such thing as c**. The word is WOMAN, which needs absolutely no qualifier. I'm not going to move over and allow men to colonise my spaces, biological, literal or figurative.

Secondly, the point is that some spaces are, and absolutely should remain, sex segregated for very good reason. Women and children are entitled to privacy, dignity and safety.

There should be NO MEN in any women's prison, nor in any other designated space for women.

He's also a murderer. That bit seems very downplayed in the article due to him being 12 at the time he drowned a three year old.

I am not sure if it would be murder. According to various sources I've read, which admittedly are a bit confused, when he was 11 or 12 he pushed the child into a pond in anger - I have no idea if he meant to kill the child. Regardless, it seems nothing was ever done because of his age at the time and an opportunity was missed to intervene with him at this point and prevent him from harming others.

I can not find any credible source supporting any connection to the mother-baby unit.

For everyone confidently claiming he has no access to the mothers and babies, you are wrong. One of the biggest mistakes we all make is to assume that the people in charge have any regard for sense, logic or preventing harm to women. They don’t.

The Reduxx article reports him being next to the mother and baby playroom leering at the babies. He was allowed to associate at a mother and baby event where the prison guard warned the women who he was and the risks he posed.

The only thing stopping him raping another baby (or woman) is the vigilance of the (mostly female) guards and the mums themselves. It is not failsafe. The mothers are traumatised by his presence.

For all those confidently dismissing this because it is in Canada, please be aware it is happening here in England (as well as the now infamous cases in Scotland).

A serial male paedophile called Sally Dixon was housed in a womens prison with a mother and baby unit (remember these are lower security because women are generally less violent). He has already sexually harassed a vulnerable woman and been moved to another wing still within the female prison.

There is no reason for this man to be anywhere near a women’s jail. His neighbours didn’t even know he identified as trans.
