To get a takeaway on a week night?!

Please tell me you all do sometimes too....

Wednesday is my last working day of the week and I just want to veg out with a curry and some wine.

I start work at 5am on a Wednesday so I am knackered and can't be bothered to cook.

Anyway - just told my friend my plans and she said she could not contemplate a curry mid-week and asked did I not feel 'bad' - which I hadn't but now I am wondering?!

So AIBU??

Go for it

mamalovesmojitos · 07/07/2010 17:33

YANBU strange comment from your mate imo.

GloriaSmut · 07/07/2010 17:33

Go for it. I have F & C every Thursday and a curry most Fridays! Life is too short for more guilt than absolutely necessary.

Doodleydoo · 07/07/2010 17:33

Why on earth would you be bu? If we could get a takeaway/ delivery we would. Is it unreasonable to have a ready meal mid week? Or go out for supper? If so then my life is shot as I am going out for dinner tonight with my dh. Shock.......its a wednesday I had better rethink that idea!

ditavonteesed · 07/07/2010 17:33

enjoy, and trell your friend she is a bit mad.

pjmama · 07/07/2010 17:34

Tell your friend to stop being so bloody smug and superior and enjoy your curry!

Pattenberger · 07/07/2010 17:34

No, yanbu.

We had chicken kebabs and chips last night, just couldn't be arsed, got in late and we don't do it all the time, so I'd go for it.

MichaelBublesPillow · 07/07/2010 17:36

YANBU!!!!!!! I would love one as I have been busy gutting the house all day, big style, but took leftovers out this morning for dinner

Numberfour · 07/07/2010 17:37

YADNBU.

Mowgli1970 · 07/07/2010 17:38

Mid week takeaway is compulsory! Go for it and enjoy!

Lonicera · 07/07/2010 17:38

we had a takeawy curry last night

ON A TUESDAY [shriek]

compo · 07/07/2010 17:39

Can't stand people with food routines - roasts only on Sundays
takeaways only at weekends
one small step and next it'll be sausages only in mondays etc
with the exception of Catholics only eating fish on Fridays of course

Firawla · 07/07/2010 17:39

i dont see why weekday or weekend really makes a difference

diamondsandtiaras · 07/07/2010 17:40

we always have a mid-week take away.......it's my reward for making it halfway to the weekend!!

werewolf · 07/07/2010 17:41

YANBU. Takeaway here last night. Lovely!

LoveBeingAsleep · 07/07/2010 17:41

Actually if you think about it a takeaway on a weekday is a good thing as you have less time, now a takeaway on a weekend is lazy

Morloth · 07/07/2010 17:43

Tuesday is dominos two for one night.

chimchar · 07/07/2010 17:46

yanbu at all.....anyway, if you finish work on a wednesday, then its YOUR weekend!!!

do it.

in fact, i think i shall join you!

TheMoonOnAStick · 07/07/2010 17:49

Yanbu. I wish I could get one tonight. I sometimes think I will go insane on the eternal lunchbox/evening meal merry-go-round

I hate thinking about food as a boring chore but that is what it seems to be these days.

LetThereBeRock · 07/07/2010 17:52

YANBU.There's nothing wrong with having a curry in the middle of the week.

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/07/2010 17:59

What is wrong with rustling up something quick and easy, like pasta?

I don't think it's fair do give your dcs crap takeaway food because you cannot be bothered to cook, tbh.

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/07/2010 18:00

Only joking.

I reserve the right to say to my family 'I can't be ARSED' and either eat out or call in a takeaway, any day of the week.

Enjoy your curry, and ignore your mad mate.

muriel76 · 07/07/2010 18:01

Thanks for the replies so quickly! Am feeling totally justified for my korma and pinot now. Cheers girls!

As for my friend, I am not sure if she meant it was bad in terms of calories, money, or what?

Or just that the luxury of not cooking should be saved for the weekend

But I will tuck in now thought without a second thought!!

Thanks again

Go crazy! My dc's are away all week and I have refused to set foot in the kitchen.

Don't waste energy feeling guilty

SDeuchars · 07/07/2010 18:23

We tend to do takeaway curry ONLY midweek - they do a meal for one for £9 and it is more than enough for three of us if we add plain rice.
