To get a takeaway on a week night?!

Please tell me you all do sometimes too....

Wednesday is my last working day of the week and I just want to veg out with a curry and some wine.

I start work at 5am on a Wednesday so I am knackered and can't be bothered to cook.

Anyway - just told my friend my plans and she said she could not contemplate a curry mid-week and asked did I not feel 'bad' - which I hadn't but now I am wondering?!

So AIBU??

There's a reason why the takeaway opens every day.

AndreaisSlowlyLosingIt · 07/07/2010 18:40

Go for it and enjoy it! For what its worth we had a chinese take out yesterday and Pizza on monday, but it was DH's birthday yesterday so good excuse

CinemaParadiso · 07/07/2010 18:41

My DH has just had a wisdom tooth removed & the post-operative advice from his dentist clearly states "eat soft food only for the first 24 hours".......so that is justification enough for a takeaway curry tonight!

zam72 · 07/07/2010 19:29

YADNU!!! I certainly have them when DH and I want to veg out and can't be bothered to do more than dial a number! Its fab! Enjoy!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/07/2010 19:33

What difference does it make? It's quite sensible actually. Takeaway shops are always quieter midweek so you dont have to wait as long for your grub!!

BettyButterknife · 07/07/2010 19:34

Ooh, you've got me wanting a curry now... Nothing wrong with it at all. Your mate is a weirdo.

ChippingIn · 07/07/2010 19:39

Your mate is barking....

GetOffMoiLand - you had me worried for a minute there - I thought someone had pinched your identity!!

Mind you OP, all the others are putting their 'organically fed, organic cotton clothed, precious ones' to bed - be prepared for them to turn up soon & tell you how bad takeaways are - for you, the planet... yadda yadda yadda....

I'm waiting for my chinese, have been driving all day coming back from a few days at my mums. There is lots of food, I had a tsco shop delivered, but I cannot be arsed to cook it.

So YANBU!

erm.. she does understand that a calorie is a calorie whatever day you eat it on?

and a pound is a pound whatever day you spend it on (or gain it!)?

odd.

I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this thread - now I want curry. We had takeaway last night (mmmm...lamb bhuna) and now I want more but had to eat stupid spaghetti bolognese! I would eat curry every night at the moment though as I'm 6 weeks pregnant, nauseous, tired and its all I fancy. Don't listen to your friend, she is BVU, not you. Enjoy your curry, whilst I sit here feeling very

Nux · 07/07/2010 19:54

YANBU, we would have starved to death as new parents without Royal Tandoori. We have been known to have one twice in one week. I refuse to even put a blush emoticon. Nom.

[defiant takeaway eater emoticon]

We had delivered pizza for supper tonight. Totally normal for us to get pizza on a Wednesday or Thursday.

sayanything · 07/07/2010 20:00

Surely it makes more sense to have a takeaway on a weekday, when you're knackered and pressed for time, than the weekend? YADNBU.

sillybillymummy · 07/07/2010 20:00

Guilt is a wasted emotion!
YANBU
