To be loving this weather

I know it's not everyones cup of tea but I don't want this heatwave to end.

The grass is yellow, the plants are wilting but I'm extremely relaxed and happy.

Sunshine is good for my soul

(although I do suffer from SAD and I am already worrying about the nights drawing in now that the solstice is over)

borderslass · 04/07/2010 10:36

you must be in the same town as me then

PurpleLostPrincess · 04/07/2010 10:59

Absolutely loving it!!! People moan about the cold and rain all year, then they moan when it's hot - what's all that about I love, love, love it

bibbitybobbityhat · 04/07/2010 11:06

I hate the hot weather. Sweat, flies, food going off, boiling hot cars, the need to cover everyone with suncream, too hot to do housework so the house is filthy, difficult to sleep, being woken at silly o'clock cos of sun coming in through the curtains. I really dislike it and suffer from mild depression in weather like this.

BuzzingNoise · 04/07/2010 11:40

I take that back about washing weather - the skies have gone a grey colour...

ifancyashandy · 04/07/2010 12:32

And STILL the sun keeps blazing! Hurrah for this thread and Grrr to the Grinches !

I despise it. I burn, the garden is suffering terribly, it gives dh migraines, there's a wasps nest outside and my poor friend is fitting daily because of it.

Roll on autumn.

LittleMissHissyFit · 04/07/2010 13:11

Heatwave???

It's been a week of sunshine.... I am old enough to remember 1976...

THAT was a heatwave...

ifancyashandy · 04/07/2010 13:17

La La La La La

borderslass · 04/07/2010 13:20

This is the first rain we've had for weeks its been baking here but typical as soon as schools finish the GREAT BRITISH SUMMER starts bring on the sun.

Alouiseg · 04/07/2010 13:23

Jobs jobbed, bikini on, factor 15 applied to the delicate bits, strong creamy coffee in hand and most importantly deep blue skies and 25 degrees c.

The Bulldog thinks he likes it too!

er..... a gentle reminder to those going to the beach: when slapping on factor 50 on your DS, be sure NOT to let your hands touch your legs....

that factor 50 works
that factor 50 works

Lindax · 04/07/2010 22:31

yanbu, in Scotland we've had lovely weather for a few weeks.

Schools stopped for summer holidays on Tuesday..... rain started on Wednesday. Turned cooler and rained for part of most days since.

Going to Devon on Saturday so hope the good weather continues there!

baskingseals · 04/07/2010 23:00

Songbiirdheartsfootball · 05/07/2010 09:45

YANBU I absolutely love this weather, my lawn's pretty much had it but I don't care, I love the sun, makes me smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/07/2010 10:15

I adore this weather Am in the south.
utterly utterly love it - even if the garden is turning to dust.

Philip Eden (from the Telegraph) said yesterday that 'during the past 100 years, just eight Junes were warmer' and 'only 25 Junes were drier in the past 100 years' also 'just 6 Junes in the past 100 years were sunnier'

Down south certainly for this week and prob into next, little change, hotter if anything by the end of the week.

cheltenhamgal · 05/07/2010 10:27

I too love the sunshine, it makes me smile. My heart just sinks if I wake up in the mornings and hear the rain as I cycle to work and end up looking like a drowned rat by the time I get there.
I get up earlier on a weekday so that I can fit in an hours housework while it is cool before I go to work so that I can enjoy the sun on my days off at the weekend.
