.....(have name changed)...I just sent a text to my OH along the lines of "and I love you and your great big XXXX and I can't wait to see you tomorrow and sit on it with my really XXX XXXXX and etc etc" - you get the general gist -

To realise to my horror I have sent it to my Dad who I have also been texting all day as my mum is in hosp having a routine op.

[shock

lmao!!! thats hilarious!!!!

5DollarShake · 02/07/2010 08:18

Oh, no!!

I have to ask - who would be a worse recipient than your Dad?????

I would far rather my boss receive a text like that, than my Dad. Of course, I wouldn't want anyone but DH to receive such a text, but there is no-one worse than your Dad. Eek sorry, this probably isn't helping!

Oh, and Wrangler

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/07/2010 08:19

Oh my God that is excruciating! I am like this for you. I have actually had to hide behind my own hands to shield myself from the horror of some of these.

bearcrumble · 02/07/2010 08:25

Oh dear, I hope your dad is the sort who can see the funny side.

(I'm surprised no one has popped up with "AT LEAST YOU HAVE A DAD" yet).

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/07/2010 08:27

Ahhhh!
Im sorry but that is fucking hilarious!
I actually blushed on your behalf!!
Nevermind killing myself the shame and mortification would eat me away till I was no longer a part of this mortal coil!

I bet it never gets mentioned. EVER. It'll be one of those things that will fill you with dread when you see him but after about, erm, a couple of years or so you should both be back to normal!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 02/07/2010 08:27

This is why I fear mobiles. My Dad and I would never be able to make eye contact again, and DH would leave the country. Masses of sympathy, OP.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/07/2010 08:29

Also I wonder if your dad is on some blokey forum talking about the dodgy text he got off his daughters phone and asking how he should react!

diamondsandtiaras · 02/07/2010 08:30

OMFG.......you'll have to leave the country, there's nothing else for it. failing that, the faking your own death thing was a good idea too.....

I get sooo paranoid about doing something like this.....I quadruple check the name before I send and then have to check my sent folder multiple times too just to double-check!! Kind of takes the fun out of it somewhat.....

MmeLindt · 02/07/2010 08:31

ooops.

Have you spoken to him yet?

Hope your Mum is ok, and does not burst her stitches laughing at your mistake.

Rollmops · 02/07/2010 08:32

You owe me a keyboard, OP............

skidoodly · 02/07/2010 08:37

Oh no no no no no no no no

It's a tight squeeze here in colditz's grave.

Rollmops · 02/07/2010 08:40

Is it too late to claim that your phone was stolen by a raging nymphomaniac? I'd file a claim with the police and inform parentials that was mugged or somesuch....
Failing that, emigrate.

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 08:42

"By booyhoo Thu 01-Jul-10 23:08:13
sorry OP, it will be fine, honest "

how?? how, exactly?

My DH's name is similar to "Dad" but luckily have only done this once with something like "pick up milk on way home"

OP you are already wallowing in shame, you might as well tell US who you are (i.e. MN nickname, words on a screen etc- it really doesn't compare does it?)

although colditz I have to warn you if you turn up late to this thread it looks like it's you!

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 02/07/2010 08:57

Hahahahahahahahahaha

Actually I think your FIL would be worse than your Dad IMO, so not as bad as it could have been....

Anyway, OP, what happened? He must have got in touch by now????

TrillianAstra · 02/07/2010 09:06

Hi MrsW

Yes, tell us what he said. Or is he too embarrassed to talk to you and sending a message via your mum?

BigBadMummy · 02/07/2010 09:07

My ex DH sent me a text once telling me all the things he wanted to do to me that night, how it had been so long and how he wanted me to do such and such to him and calling me by that special name that only the two of us shared.

Unfortunately it was intented for the OW as the special name meant nothing to me and I had just had given birth.

Ho Hum .

I really feel your shame though OP. I would have to fake my own death in your situation. Seriously, it is the only way. It is what I did with the ex. The roses in my garden have looked great ever since.

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 09:08

BBM but lol at the roses - new fertiliser??

Nikalah · 02/07/2010 09:10

Throw your phone away immediatley and claim it has been stolen!

O.M.G.!!!!

BigBadMummy · 02/07/2010 09:12

stealth yeah ex-Hs make great compost. Roses thrive in manure

mortification · 02/07/2010 09:13

He phoned (guess he figured safer than texting me ) this morning with an "upate" on my mum cue lots of throat clearing and me in a teeny tiny voice saying "hi dad - hows mum?" and him replying "Fine my dear - any plans for the weekend?"

OP posts:
DetectivePotato · 02/07/2010 09:15

PMSL!!!!! No way it could be someone more embarrassing than your dad. Sorry, no help there. I agree that faking your death or emigrating is the only way to go.

And who are you? Surely you can't be any more embarrassed than you already are.

MrsMiamla · 02/07/2010 09:16

hilarious...sorry...i know...but

StealthPolarBear · 02/07/2010 09:19

that's what I think DP! Come on...give us a clue
