arf
you nob end

IamBatman · 01/07/2010 15:15

i prefer ready grated myself, can you buy it in actual slices?

MathsMadMummy · 01/07/2010 15:15

sliced cheese is at least the best thing since nob ends

Lauriefairycake · 01/07/2010 15:15

yabu - what do they add to make it not stick together

wahwahwah · 01/07/2010 15:15

No. It works out very expensive and I think a perfectly symmetrical cheese sandwich is sinister.

FolornHope · 01/07/2010 15:15

chalk dust.

snigger.
i liek ready grated.
i hate grating
am idle

KurriKurri · 01/07/2010 15:17

I like to pop a whole block of cheese on a cracker and force it down like a snake eating a badger. I worry in case my cholesterol drops too low.

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2010 15:17

FH you are a meanie

Anyway, just decided IABU - jif/cif is the best thing since sliced bread - is there anything it doesn't clean?

ForlornHope - that's what children are for - to do the boring tasks under the guise of Getting to Cook with Mummy. As we are not vegetarian, a little extra blood and/or flesh in the cheese doesn't bother us too much.

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2010 15:18

wahwahwah I always do the sums in the shop - it sometimes works out about the same, esp when they are on offer

JacobBlacksBitch · 01/07/2010 15:18

wahwah I got some recently (cant recall if Sains or Tesco) but it was the same price per kilo as the cheapish stuff in a block. So I went for it. usually I'd say I'm not paying someone to pick up a knife for me but same price so YAY!!! It's great. and I like the symmetry

But I snacked on it - slice here, slice there, so it's back to blocks for me

wahwahwah · 01/07/2010 15:19

I just grate a whole load of the stuff and put it in the fridge.

Almost lost a bloody finger last week though. Just as I was moaning 'this grater is really blunt, couldn't grate soft butter...'off pinged a lump of flesh from the back of my finger. So maybe pre-sliced or grated is safer...

Mingg · 01/07/2010 15:19

Yes, ready sliced cheese is horrible.

Poledra · 01/07/2010 15:20

So you don't snack on blocks, then Jacob? Would you like to come and teach my DH and DDs that is Not the Done Thing please? I am always finding teethmarks in the cheese.........

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2010 15:20

sains - 2 for £3

READY SLICED CHEESE

I think ready sliced cheese is DISGUSTING and for the LAZY and you should be ashamed of yourself. I mean it is only one short step to Primula cheese and buying your christmas dinner from Farm Foods.

Dear god how hard is it to slice your own cheese etc etc

Hullygully · 01/07/2010 15:22

Get Orf has a cheese slicing company. She has fleets of illegal immigrants going round the office blocks of london with slicers on their bikes for lunchtime operations.

wahwahwah · 01/07/2010 15:23

I could eat a whole block on Ritz crackers. And it has been done...

wahwahwah · 01/07/2010 15:23

in fact, forget the crackers.

Humdeedum · 01/07/2010 15:24

oooh i love plastic cheese of all kinds

One of my favourite but probably disgusting to most of you, snacks is a slice of plastic ham wafer thin, very salty (you know the sort I mean) with a slice of plastic cheese rolled into a sausage and eaten as is! Yum yum.

jamaisjedors · 01/07/2010 15:26

ooh Primula cheese, I saw an ad for that the other day and it took me right back to childhood when it was the only thing I would eat.

I was to see it was still around!

wahwahwah · 01/07/2010 15:29

That is just nasty. So is the triangle squishy stuff that pretends to be cheese. Dairylea?

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/07/2010 15:33

DD loves primula cheese - the prawn flavour one.

I cannot think of anything more disgusting.

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2010 15:34

that's what my DH calls cow cheese
I think there is dairylea and one with a cow on it (red, i think)

no one joining me in jif? I have a clean kitchen and a sparkly oven ahhhh
