GetOrfMoiLand · 01/07/2010 15:35

Many a time I have eaten a whole packet of crap wafer ham stood up at the fridge.

Prefer it to Nice Ham, actually.

wahwahwah · 01/07/2010 15:36

If you buy grated cheese, do you also buy
sliced mushrooms or diced onions, and are they any good?

Because if they are, I might try them.

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2010 15:47

no - I buy mushrooms that sit in the fridge until way past their best, then I throw them out now that's l;azy

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/07/2010 15:48

Diced onions are disgusting. All dried out. Used them to make a curry once and it wasn't the same - they didn't brown the same.

chegggersplayspop · 01/07/2010 15:49

I like sliced cheese, but why don't they make the slices the same size as a piece of bread ffs?

jazzchickens · 01/07/2010 15:52

I like all kind of cheese - don't care how it is delivered. Although with ready grated & sliced - I can't cut the corners off the block and eat them whilst making my sarnie. One of lifes little pleasures!

SanctiMoanyArse · 01/07/2010 15:52

Ready sliced cheese is fab

mainly becuase 4/6 of us are dairy intol and I don;t get to eat it so don't care how it tastes as long sn it is easy

As for grating fibngers off- ouch. I blended off the top of mu finger the day before I went on honeymoon and had to ruise around the canaries and Morocco with a bandage on my fingers. Bugger.

JacobBlacksBitch · 01/07/2010 15:53

I wouldn't say DON'T POLEDRA but I'm much better at leaving them alone.
at teeth marks in cheese - little mice "squeak squeak"

JacobBlacksBitch · 01/07/2010 15:54

GETORF the slices cheese I got was proper chedder just like the block. Not that plastic cheese in a wrapper which they shouldn't be allowed to call cheese.

StuckInTheMiddleWithYou · 01/07/2010 15:55

Apparentlty in the US, you can get spray on cheese.....

Thomcat · 01/07/2010 15:56

yes, because you can't grate sliced cheese!

MayorNaze · 01/07/2010 15:58

i buy pre-grated cheese AND regular cheese

i have my reasons

did you know that you can also get cow cheese made with goat milk?

which surely should be goat cheese and have a picture illustrating aforementioned goat, with or without earrings

but it doesn't

StealthPolarBear · 01/07/2010 15:58

oh Thomcat you are such a cheese novice

KurriKurri · 01/07/2010 16:51

Laughing cows ear rings are made out of laughing Cow cheese boxes. Which is very artsy crafty when you've only got hooves.

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/07/2010 17:01

lol at Mayornaze not actually explaining what those reasons to buy crap cheese are.

How cheesily enigmatic.

MathsMadMummy · 01/07/2010 17:24

you lot are too cheesily amused

anyway - I was the other week when I looked at a packet of Dairylea Lunchables. the cheese bit is called 'cheese food' - does that mean they aren't even allowed to call it cheese?!

noddyholder · 01/07/2010 17:26

I bought ready grated today for the 1st time ever! disgusting! It is for ds as he is on school hols and a block seems beyond him Love ready done frozen onions though no chopping or smelly hands

usualsuspect · 01/07/2010 17:30

Dairylea on thick white toast is one of my favourite things to eat ....

majafa · 01/07/2010 17:31

Love cheese, especially grated sliced cheese

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 01/07/2010 17:31

you idle fecks.

I dream of the day when I get something like nicer dicer, or v slicer, or whatever you call the darn things - on the cbeebies programme where they cook vegetable muffins they have a thing they turn to grate cheese. My fingers may suffer 'til such a day is upon me, but I will not buy ready sliced, ready grated stuff. I come over all funny when I see a piece of perfect rectangle ham on a slice of bread, then a piece of perfect rectangle cheese go on top.... I think I would implode if I saw it occuring on some of that "perfect square, we already cut the crusts off" shite. I feel dirty even opening this thread!

I do however crave fajitas now only because it's takes me forever and a day to grate the cheese, dice the onion, slice the tomato, slice the cucumber...

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 01/07/2010 17:32

Urgh, cheese food! Like "irish recipe sausages" because there isn't enough pork in them to even call them pork sausages
