me and dh been at each others throats all weekend for some reason.
We are supposed to be going away this weekend for 2 nights as my birthday treat, although this has now been downgraded to one night (hopefully if we can get a sitter) as my IL's have been delayed coming back from hols.

He rings me just now to say that he'd like to try and get back early sunday so he can go windsurfing in the afternoon
FFS is it worth it, we wont go now until saturday afternoon and then he wants to be back sunday morning!!!!!!

I was so angry I made some childish comment about the seeing the windsurfing girls down there, who have miraculously appeared on his FB friends lately.

Tosser!!!!!!

YANBU, I'd be seriously pissed off as well. If he can't be arsed to do it properly then I'd tell him to stick it up his arse, and possibly never ever speak to him again.

lilllysa · 29/06/2010 17:42

YANBU!

Men are all tossers!!

mosschops30 · 29/06/2010 17:43

booyhoo · 29/06/2010 17:44

tell him that is fine he can go windsurfing aslong as he arranges another two night break away, arranges babysitters etc all himself.

saslou · 29/06/2010 17:44

YANBU.

LoveBeingAsleep · 29/06/2010 17:45

I'd be telling him not to bother comeing with me and then i'd go for two night anyway.

nagoo · 29/06/2010 17:45

Yanbu for sure.

Ladyanonymous · 29/06/2010 17:47

That sucks YANBU -

LisaD1 · 29/06/2010 17:51

YANBU, he is being a selfish twat and if it were me I wouldn't be going, well, actually I would, I would go for the original 2 nights and leave him at home with the children!

Stray · 29/06/2010 17:58

YANBU
If he wants to get back so early maybe you should go for the two nights, take a friend and he can babysit

FortunateHamster · 29/06/2010 18:00

YANBU

Nights away like that should be special, not rushed, especially birthday trips!

HecateQueenOfWitches · 29/06/2010 18:09

I'd probably go down the passive agressive route of "well, I was really looking forward to having a couple of days with you, just the two of us, but if you'd rather go off windsurfing than enjoy time alone with me then I won't stop you. I wouldn't want you to be with me if you'd rather be somewhere else."

But I can be bitchy like that

The sensible grown up in me advises that you talk to him and tell him how you feel without the side order of guilt.

(but the bitch in me says do the first thing )

bintofbohemia · 29/06/2010 18:12

YANBU. What utter nobbery.

Sn0wflake · 29/06/2010 18:43

Snap his surf board in half.

GeekOfTheWeek · 29/06/2010 18:54

YANBU

I think he is being mean.

AnyFucker · 29/06/2010 18:57

throw his surfboard on the barbie

then kill him

mistressploppy · 29/06/2010 19:00

I'm with Hecate on the passive-aggressive thing, it's evil but it works (usually)

Tiredmumno1 · 29/06/2010 19:05

Why are these girls on his fb?

emmab5 · 29/06/2010 19:12

I'm with AnyFucker! YANBU that so selfish and inconsiderate. Tell him exactly how hurt you are and cancel his fb account

mumbar · 29/06/2010 19:19

I agree with stray go with a friend

Zondra · 29/06/2010 19:51
