Have fun Knitter!

Weathers lurvely down 'ere this weekend

ninah · 25/06/2010 22:57

exactly lb

ninah · 25/06/2010 22:58

anyone going to green man?

KnitterNotTwitter · 25/06/2010 23:01

Poshwellies definitely agree that it's lost it's edge. No feeling of danger in the air any more. Too well organised and slick. I do miss the days when it seemed like everyone had a mohawk and piercings, when they sold magic mushrooms openly and when you had a feeling that for everyone there this was a permanant lifestyle choice rather than just a long weekend off from being an accountant in Basingstoke.

My mum used to work on a foodstall then and I loved knowing that I was doing something that none of my school friends would be allowed to do by their parents

Now their parents come.... It's definitely changed.

i am nearly 40 and i have promised myself a glasto ticket before im 50.

im watching it on telly and longing to be there. i love music. i dont think its sad to go and enjoy some live music and all the rest of the very diverse stuff at glasonbury.

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/06/2010 23:03

(i am so of that crowd watching the Gorillaz.... and the tv coverage keeps flicking from beeb 3, to 4 to beeb2! its annoying!

lemonysweet · 25/06/2010 23:04

live music should be encouraged as much as possible, then artists would stop whinging about illegal downloads and actually put some effort into being a damned good live act, instead of one that relies of studio magic to sound good!
also, after watching glasto on tv, its officially for cool oldies. one day, when i have the money...

ninah · 25/06/2010 23:06

KnT if you work around festivals I think it's still like that
my bf takes her dd with her, they buy stock in S American and sell at all the festivals it seems a great learning experience for her dd
rest of year they live on a houseboat
they are top people and I am lucky to know them

Poshwellies · 25/06/2010 23:08

I'm with you on the of Gorillaz (way better than U2! ahem) vicar.

I totally agree Knitter,it was very free and raw.

LadyBiscuit · 25/06/2010 23:09

I have a lot of friends who are much younger and do live a very alternative life - going to glastonbury is as much part of their calendar as christmas. They were in mourning last year

janeite · 25/06/2010 23:09

God the Gorrillaz were sooooooooooooooo boring. Are they still on now? I can just hear crappy rappy ranting from in the other room.

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/06/2010 23:14

oh janeite i couldnt disagree more! plastic beach is a fab album. Bobby Womack was on stage with them just now.

2 out of the Clash. drummer from the Verve. Bobby womack. lou reed. snoop dog. its a brilliant album!

oh - and op - when did John Peel stop going? oh thats right - he didnt.

i cannot WAIT to be old enough to go to glasto. without kids.

janeite · 25/06/2010 23:17

Can hear Dare now, I think. Sounds better than the other stuff. I think Damon just looks a bit sad nowadays, tbh. And why is he wearing a jumper that's four sizes too small for him?

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/06/2010 23:19

omg omg omg omg

mark E smith is on with em!!!! swoons....(yep i have v weird taste in men)

ninah · 25/06/2010 23:19

omg bobby womack, really
I am more pssed off that festivals severely clash with school term this year than being too old for them or stuff
when i was 20 I wouldnt have remembered

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/06/2010 23:20

i kind of like Damon now he is a bit rough round the edges...

janeite · 25/06/2010 23:20

Mark E looks like a dirty old man in a mac. Even dp is giggling at him (and dp is in love with him).

cornsilk5793 · 25/06/2010 23:21

I think Damon looks hot. Did Shaun Ryder dedicate Dare to Frank Sidebottom/I didn't hear it properly.

Poshwellies · 25/06/2010 23:21

He's actually far better now in Gorillaz than Blur (and I loved Blur).

He's a talented chap (Not forgetting Jamie Hewlett obv.)

Meglet · 25/06/2010 23:23

yabu

I hated Glastonbury in my 20's. Went twice, got fecked off with everyone off their tits on drugs / burning tents and swore never to go again. It was horrible in those days.

Now it's posh I'm looking forward to taking the dc's in a couple of years.

It's lovely in good weather. And you don't have to seen any bands, there's loads to do. Andy from cbeebies performs IIRC .

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/06/2010 23:23

OMGGGGGG
LOU REED is on with em now!!!

ninah · 25/06/2010 23:24

lou reed not really
so pissed off now!

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/06/2010 23:24

cornsilk he did - he died.
the gorillaz is like anyone who is anyone from the last 30 years of groups! im loving it

cornsilk5793 · 25/06/2010 23:25

Yeah I know he died

gonaenodaethat · 25/06/2010 23:29

I really don't see what can be tragic about getting together with friends, in the sunshine(hopefully), having a drink and listening to music.

What is truly tragic is allowing yourself to be restricted because of your age.
