Estuardo moonlights as a copywriter for those spam emails - no doubt selling viagra, stolen from her GP husband's stash of free pharmaceuticals.

I always look forward to her spams. She entitled her latest to me: 'up a creek without "I hope it will have some effect," by either the FSA or' - which is intriguing, but my recent favourite was 'stumbling up the hill, Heathcliffe roped a typewriter lacking sunshine'.

Now, if those emails contained Hecate's lyrics instead of badly-spelled adverts for fake pills, my inbox would be a source of fresh joy each morning

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 25/06/2010 02:11

Hec is definitely right, it's the OP who got the text from the male friend, and went to visit him after having tea with the kids (as she's a travelling GP, she has...a car? I don't know). He lives nearby. Maybe he's the travelling GP?

He lives nearby, anyway. Which is nice, what with petrol prices the way they are.

Anyway, he hasn't called, which is worrying. I suspect another woman, who dresses like Barbie, might be involved. Although Estuardo shouldn't worry, because anyone dressed like Barbie will catch her death soon enough.

Loving this crazy thread!
Maybe it was OPs DH who got a text saying 'dress like Barb"s' from his mentally troubled friend, that would explain the thread title.
I'm at a loss with how the travelling GP, suggested meeting and not calling bits fit though.
I wonder if we'll ever know the truth!

KickArseQueen · 25/06/2010 02:44

.

thumbwitch · 25/06/2010 02:47

I just know this was sent from a phone and the predictive text has ballsed things up - but I can't work out what it should say!

KickArseQueen · 25/06/2010 02:54

Nah! just place marking Too skint for a webby phone too tired to read it all tonight. School run soon. Where are you thumbwitch that you are still up?

( You're not suggesting that I usually say 3 words when one will do are you??)

thumbwitch · 25/06/2010 02:55

LOL KAQ - not you, the OP!!

(am in Australia)

KickArseQueen · 25/06/2010 02:57

Ah! That makes more sense actually! I'm in the uk and its 3am! Night thumbwitch.

thumbwitch · 25/06/2010 03:09

night KAQ! Pleasant dreams

Chil1234 · 25/06/2010 06:57

@OP

You are being thoroughly reasonable to think your DH has dodgy character traits. Run your garbled message through a speech synth backwards at half-speed and you get 'Paul McCartney is dead....throw all Millibands off Westminster Bridge.

I've just asked my 9.2 DD to translate it, she said it's just random rubbish. so there you have it.

Maylee · 25/06/2010 10:59

LMFAO!!

Please come back and explain OP!

YABU to think your DH is showing dodgy traits when it is perfectly obvious that is indeed you who is insane OP.

Either that or you are having a massive fucking laugh posting the most confusing post ever known to the history of internet forums.

Dress like Barb"S is the most singularly weird thing I have ever read on MN. And I've read ALOT of weird things on here.

Miggsie · 25/06/2010 11:27

Did the husband post it which is part of his new dodgy traits, and OP has run away to join the circus while her friend has a breakdown?

I've got a dress like Barb's. It's blue.

pontypandy · 25/06/2010 12:33

Has the op not come back??
This has really puzzled me

HalfTermHero · 25/06/2010 13:09

Right, I can help with the 'dress like Barb"s' ref, I think. I don't think OP meant to post that. I would say she was posting from an iphone. It is really easy on iphone to accidentally cut and paste random text (from internet or your text messages) into a post. Reckon she did not realise it was there when she hit 'post'.

Should also mention that I love Hecate, too .

HalfTermHero · 25/06/2010 13:16

Also my translation is this:

Op and her dh do not live together.
Op is an out of hours GP and she received a text from a friend and went to visit him after first finishing tea with her kids. Op's Dh was meant to call OP for them to meet up after she had finished visit to friend (as dh lives near to the nervous breakdown friend's house). Dh has not called and has effectively stood OP up. Op is not happy about this dodgy character trait - i.e. that dh happily leaves people hanging around and does not fulfil promises etc. .

femalevictormeldrew · 25/06/2010 13:26

This has made me snigger out loud
This is the funniest thread I have read in quite a while. I really hope OP comes back and clears this up for all our sanity

I don't think we should rule out the possibility of this being some Spooks style MI5 message that someone in the eastern bloc is picking up and making complete sense of.

TheBossofMe · 25/06/2010 14:22

Really laughing at this one - please come back OP!
