waitingforbedtime · 15/06/2010 20:00

Oooh good idea. How would you stop it going sweaty though???

sumum · 15/06/2010 20:00

Never ever heard of this, but what a talking point.

Go for it.

I remember someone having a pork pie wedding cake, so why not?

Jasonthunderpants · 15/06/2010 20:01

BigWeeHag · 15/06/2010 20:01

My friend had it at hers, looked amazing and was really appropriate.

(I was a bit sad though, I proper love wedding cake.)

MrsChemist · 15/06/2010 20:01

I saw them on the Paxton and Whitfield website and was gutted I didn't know about them before my wedding.

maduggar · 15/06/2010 20:02

scurryfunge · 15/06/2010 20:02

What about this?

Questa · 15/06/2010 20:03

My work colleague is doing this - entirely do-able, apparently!

MissTrumpton · 15/06/2010 20:03

Lots of people like cheese. Maybe you could have a plain fruit cake (like M&S do) in the back for people who desperatly want a piece of cake.

Jasonthunderpants · 15/06/2010 20:04

Blimey ,comments coming in to fast for me to keep up

DP will dare not go against public opinion

Go cheese ,go cheese, go cheese

scurry they had a fruitcake and cheese layer wedding cake on one of their pages, god it sounds mouthwatering.

I had Apple pie and cheese in a diner in the US once...

nymphadora · 15/06/2010 20:04

We were going to have one but never got round to ordering it

FiaGrace · 15/06/2010 20:05

Do it, two of my friends had cheese wedding cakes and I must admit they were lovely.

I made quite a pig of myself on both occasions actually

deaddei · 15/06/2010 20:05

My SIL had a porkpie 3 tier one.

Ewe · 15/06/2010 20:05

I have been to a few weddings with cheese cakes, they look a bit naff IMO and I'm not a huge cheese fan so it's not something I would personally choose.

However, like all these things, if you like it do it! Your wedding day, your rules.

qwertpoiuy · 15/06/2010 20:05

Back in 1996, I wanted chocolate cake as my wedding cake, and I was looked at as if I had 2 heads! In the end, I paid good money for fruit cake I HATED with a passion. Now chocolate and biscuit cake is the norm.

So you have the cake you want, it's your day and your money.

sumum · 15/06/2010 20:05

My goodness they look fab fab fab.

I want one and I'm married!!

RobynLou · 15/06/2010 20:06

my friend did this, it was awesome, but they ended up with ALOT of cheese left over (no bad thing!) also you need o make sure someone is on hand with dencent knives to cut it up, it was 'serve yourself' at my friends wedding, and most people struggled to cut it.

wubblybubbly · 15/06/2010 20:07

I love the idea. Much better value than a cake.

Decorated with grapes etc, they look lovely, I could eat this right now.

KickButtowski · 15/06/2010 20:08

WOW what a wonderful idea. I have never heard of doing this but I think it is brilliant. Go Cheese definitely, and post a pic so we can see what you went for.

NickiSue · 15/06/2010 20:09

What a fab idea! Love the idea of a cheese cake, love cheese! Am hungry so am actually going to Tescos now to buy cheese, (and other things lol!)
