Well, I don't get any at home, so thought I'd set up a thread where we can all kid ourselves make believe that we are getting some good quality ME TIME!!

So come on girls, who's with me? And what would shall we do with our virtual me time?

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 18:37

Whoops, what shall we do, not what would shall we do!

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 18:59

Ok, just me then!

tadjennyp · 10/06/2010 19:06

Sorry, was busy reading the world cup thread! This pretty much is my me time at the moment but feeling guilty as that means ds is just watching a bit of TV. Whoops! Would like to be sitting in the sun reading a decent novel in total peace and quiet, what about you?

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 19:11

I would love a nice hot bubble bath to relax in with a good book to read. Reality is by the time the kids are bathed and in bed, the water is running luke warm and if I try to have a bath when they're awake, I have one of them deciding to have a poo, while the other dangles his hands in the water

A desert island, hot sunshine, just me and my ereader would be my idea of heaven! [dreamy emoticon]

I just want to go to the gym. How sad is that! Haven't been for 6 months because either a: I was too pregnant or b: the gym creche won't take babies under 3 months. There's a lot of peace to be had with an ipod and a running machine...

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 20:32

That's not sad at all howdidthishappenthen, it's amazing how quickly you start to miss having time to yourself though isn't it!

I like your thinking Chunky. I am personally using my me time to browse MN whilst sipping a glass of chilled rose (and feeling slightly guilty about quaffing said rose due to still bf-ing DD2!!........she won't want a feed til 5.30am - that's ok right??)

I have a recurrent fantasy about a spa day..........massage, pedicure, lounge around by the pool with a magazine I bought months ago and haven't had a chance to read yet..........

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 20:56

Ooh diamonds, that sounds fab!! And please don't feel guilty about the rose!

lazarusb · 10/06/2010 22:07

Book me on the spa day too please! Actually, can you make it a week..?

shockers · 10/06/2010 22:15

I would like to read... all day. Wine could be involved, but only after about 4.30 or I would fall asleep and not be able to read.

Could this start from midnight so I could have coffee and breakfast in bed in the morning?

Is it sad that this is my fantasy?

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 22:16

Me too! I'm just imagining DH's face if I told him I was having a spa day, let alone a week!

OP posts:
ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 22:18

Not sad at all shockers, this is what this thread is for, for us to dream about the things we'd love to be able to do, just for a little while.

OP posts:
shockers · 10/06/2010 22:26

Good! Then I will do it... and then I shall be calm....

(when?)

shockers · 10/06/2010 22:28

Shall we pretend we've paid for it and then folk will have to take us seriously?

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 22:30

Why not!

So, when???

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/06/2010 22:32

I would love a spa day - I would have massages all day long - apart from lunch which would be massive.

Vallhala · 10/06/2010 22:36

Books, six of. Sitting in my bedside table calling me. Yet by the time I sit down I'm too tired and stressy to read them.

A couple are about my own family's past, I have a family tree calling me too and new-found family members I should email, but when you start such conversations they just run and run and....

Ohyoubadkitten... i would come with you on that spa day (but might read during a couple of your massages). Loving the idea of the massive lunch... menu ideas?

whatname · 10/06/2010 22:41

shockers · 10/06/2010 22:42

And we have to set a date don't we chunky? Come on ladies... when?

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 22:42

I made a really naughty pud tonight.....sticky toffee apple crumble......naughty but nice!!!

LordVolAuVent · 10/06/2010 22:43

This is very timely! Have been dreaming of lying in sun by pool/on beach on my own all day reading my book so much recently! No-one needing anything or whingeing/ screaming/ tantrumming/ asking for stuff... Would be lush!!!! And a lie in. Spa day would be totally acceptable too. With wine and lots of food (not one of those starvation ones!)

Sometimes I imagine it so much, I almost convince myself it's going to happen, then feel all when I remember it's not.

How funny that everyone just wants to read a book.

VirginonRidiculous · 10/06/2010 22:44

Oh to read a book. I suppose I could if I wasn't lurking here every night.

My eyes are so red off staying up until 12pm just to get some 'me time'. They are blood shot. But I do it anyway for peace and quiet. Sometimes I even get to have a bath!

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 10/06/2010 22:44

Oh yes, a date....erm.....as soon as! Who's free this weekend? Don't think DH will notice if I slip out, he'll be too engrossed in the world cup
