Wow, he didn't even hint at that when I asked him on here and HE SPOKE TO ME. Did I mention that he spoke to me?

Aitch I think she might be responsible for the 'curled turd on head' hairstyle...

megonthemoon · 09/06/2010 10:51

I knew there'd be a thread but couldn't find it so started my own and then wondered why nobody was replying! You're all being heartbroken here!

I am heartbroken. I love Charlie. He is the one person I might consider leaving my DH for

Konnie does Holly Willoughby type jobs so you think she's dim. I was a bit disheartened that Charlie would go for someone like that, and then I remembered that she went to Cambridge so is intelligent and can probably hold a decent conversation, and my faith in Charlie was restored. And it's probably a good match as he is fascinated by tv fluff and she presents tv fluff so they can have a proper chat about it over a cuppa.

Plus as we now have proof that Charlie likes intelligent girls, I'm happy. I went to Cambridge too so that means Charlie and I are still destined to be together some day

absalom · 09/06/2010 10:57

I was at school with CB and in sixth form he had a lot of friends who were girls, but never seemed to have a girlfriend at that time IIRC. He was hilariously funny back then, but it is still weird to see him on TV and see all you lot swooning over him!

I wonder if it is ever possible to get star struck over someone you went to school with?

hazeyjane · 09/06/2010 11:02

I don't get the Charlie Brooker attractiveness thing at all, Konnie Huq is lovely though, and certainly not an airhead.

edam · 09/06/2010 11:05

Hmm, I seem to recall Konnie Huq doing a laughably crap interview with Tony Blair - did I dream it?

edam, wasn't that June Sarpong? Mind you, Blair did a lot of crap interviews...

Gutted

You know, I'd have thought Charlie was the really intellectual one. His wit's sharp whereas she's ... so ... well I can't see how she's any different to Myleene Klass really. Interchangeable babe presenter unit.

Teddyisonhisway · 09/06/2010 11:29

I've come over all teenagerish and cross, and am going to have to kick a pet or something. But then again, maybe I should feel sorry for Mrs Brooker-to-be instead..?

Teddyisonhisway · 09/06/2010 11:36

I'm actually going to refuse to believe this... it makes me feel better

edam · 09/06/2010 11:49

Oh, am I getting my presenters mixed up? Apologies to Konnie if so. Wasn't she also (unfairly) criticised by the Tories for daring to have TB on some show or other? Or appearing at some launch of some government initiative?

policywonk · 09/06/2010 11:54

I think it's rather unsisterly to assume that KH must be milquetoast and borderline thick just because she's a presenter. I'm disposed to think that if CB's fallen for her she must have quite a lot going for her (beyond the obvious).

edam · 09/06/2010 11:56

I dunno, I tend not to imagine male presenters are terribly intelligent either. Although I gather at least Wogan has some banking qualifications which is more than most chief executives and board directors of our banks have...

sharbieinbackofthequattro · 09/06/2010 11:57

But........she does have that mad empty stare and slighty shouty voice thing

OrientCalf · 09/06/2010 12:01

edam - she did a behind-the-scenes at downing st with questions to TB from BP viewers I think - obv aimed at the BP audience so don't know about criticism etc

I seem to remember she has refused to pose topless or somthing?

edam · 09/06/2010 12:03

Ah well if it was for BP it's fair enough that the questions weren't vintage Paxo. ds would probably ask 'are you the good prime minister or the baddie?' - he was interested in the general election but the finer details went rather over his head!

WHAT FRESH HELL IS THIS?

I had a moment when I read it, when I thought it might be a joke - because really I thought he was waiting for me!

FUCKER

I haven't read anything to conclude that she is thick - she followed her sister to Cambridge.

sharbieinbackofthequattro · 09/06/2010 12:21

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek harpy
Cambridge, really????

PfftTheMagicDragon · 09/06/2010 12:23

i don't like the dress, but why would you assume from what she's wearing that she's not intelligent?
