.... would stop singing over the bloody songs. He spoils my enjoyment of a few oldies on the school run.

If there is anyone who thinks this is interesting or amusing then I will stand corrected.

Can't stand Steve bloody Wright. Non stop oldies - why can I still hear your voice, then? Grr.

ShowOfHands · 08/06/2010 16:12

Oh he drives me mad.

And all emails start 'Hi Steve, love the show, can I just say...'

We call him Steve Love the Show Wright.

But yes, shut up singing over things. V annoying.

lottiejenkins · 08/06/2010 16:12

I loathe him as well and avoid listening to him. just about the only good thing about the ash cloud recently was him being trapped abroad and not on his show for the week!!

fruitshootsandheaves · 08/06/2010 16:14

I used to love Steve wright. Have listened to him for years but have to confess that he is even beginning to annoy me now. Especially that Barry from Watford he has on.
I have converted to Chris Evans, he makes me laugh.

lamplighter · 08/06/2010 16:17

I prefer him to the Jeremy Vine Show - I shout at the radio and get really angry when that it is on. Then I come to my senses and switch off.

When I start phoning in saying things like "Ban football" or "Sterilise all non middle class people in case they breed" I know it is time to pull up the drawbridge and retire.

Steve Wright I can put up with but I know what you mean by "Love the Show"

ShowOfHands · 08/06/2010 16:20

Jeremy Vine is great. His listeners are the Pitchfork Appreciation Society. You can play Vine bingo. Usually with just one caller you get 'I pay my taxes', 'benefits scroungers' and 'well I've no knowledge whatsoever of the subject, but I just wanted to say...'

If you listen to Sarah Kennedy she constantly refers to to any compliments she gets as SW's.

She frequently reads out the expression "SWs to you" from listeners who write in. "SWs" is shorthand for "Love the show" (as in the oft-quoted phrase by Steve Wright on his programmes, hence the use of his initials). Many listeners write in to ask what "SWs" actually means, but she rarely explains it. Kennedy is also said to have been the first person to use the term 'white van man' in 1997

i hate love the shoe
and "janeyleegrace"
we KNOW her name

36years36years36years · 08/06/2010 16:23

What was going on with the newsreader today, she stumbled over every broadcast then there was someone else, not listening now as SW annoys me in a manner most profound and I have switched off.

PansAndNoodles · 08/06/2010 16:24

It's a very tired old format now isn't it?

I think he needs to be put out to pasture. Stick him in the 'Mumbln' around midnight' slot.

PuppyMonkey · 08/06/2010 16:27

I heard him say yesterday that "love the show" has become his catchphrase... so I think he does it tongue in cheek you know.

He's still a knob end.

And that dream analysis bloke earlier... what a load of shit.

bibbitybobbityhat · 08/06/2010 16:27

Gah! just turned off the radio in the kitchen cos he gets on my tits soooo much, him and his factoids. And just now he was singing over the end of the song and singing the wrong bloody words! I can't believe he is still on the air, tbh. And as for Janice Long ...

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 08/06/2010 16:27

"Factoids" aaargh

bibbitybobbityhat · 08/06/2010 16:29

Actually, Pans, very good idea. Put Steve Wright on at midnight and Janice in the graveyard slot . I just don't understand why Radio 2 is so very deeply stuck in its ways.

DecorHate · 08/06/2010 16:33

Alaska, are you coderoo? You will love JanieLeeGraces dc names! If you are cod will email. (not fair to make fun of out them on t'net)

PansAndNoodles · 08/06/2010 16:33

weblette · 08/06/2010 16:34

Oh I hate the lot of them on that show. Absolute crock of poo, can't wait for him to feck off on holiday so someone decent will come on.

AlaskaNebraska · 08/06/2010 17:55

AlaskaNebraska · 08/06/2010 18:00

AlaskaNebraska · 08/06/2010 18:02

and there is a special steve wright hating site, aptly named.... i hate steve wright

DecorHate · 08/06/2010 18:06

Right (!) with the first one. Have to be careful as an oldie's ds shares one of the names and may take offence!

pissovski · 08/06/2010 18:11

Like Ask Elvis and Factoids but can't abide the way SW has to talk of sing (stupidly) over the end of the songs I tend to berate him loudly for doing this when alone in my car!

Love it when Dale Winton or Craig Charles take over! Sooo much better

AlaskaNebraska · 08/06/2010 18:13

i do like zoe ball a lot in the mornings
