.... would stop singing over the bloody songs. He spoils my enjoyment of a few oldies on the school run.

If there is anyone who thinks this is interesting or amusing then I will stand corrected.

SlartyBartFast · 08/06/2010 22:30

i was chris tarrants biggest fan when he was on capital, back in the day but missed hearing him when he took sw's place recently, sadly, i was disappointed in graham norton standing in for sw but when he stood in for chris evans recently i thought he was fantastic, i cheered when they announced he would replace wossy on saturday mornigns.
cannot stand janey lee grace and the factoids, gah, feel sorry for sw's jowls though.

Best radio presenter ever is Danny Baker. I actually cried when he gave up his GLR show.

I also love Radcliffe & Maconie and wish they could be on during the day sometimes.

And am v fond of Paul O'Grady. And quite like Allen Carr and Emma Forbes but had to switch off on Sunday cos Mel C was making me cringe.

MrsKitty · 09/06/2010 00:02

Oh LottieJ, the Old Woman makes be want to pull my teeth out in an effort to stop myself from grinding them at her.

I cannot abide the SW show, but it's like ShowofHands says - it just creeps up on you, and before you know it he and his supremely annoying sidekicks are all there wittering on about absolute bollocks. Urgh.

Thought Graham Norton did a pretty good job of standing in, and I'm sure Dale stood in for him recently too. Just anyone, ANYONE, other than SW pleeease R2?!

MrsKitty · 09/06/2010 00:03

Oh, and talking of radio 2 - Who on earth was that standing in for Jezza last week? He was awful.

ohfuschia · 09/06/2010 00:22

Matthew Bannister I think. Can anyone explain why the heck that schoolteacher Simon gets trotted out so often on Jeremy Vine? He used to be on Kilroy Silk and Esther when they were on the telly and now he's got himself a direct line to the nation on R2 - I do not understand it.

hahaimawitch · 09/06/2010 08:30

Everytime Steve Wright says 'ta' my nostrils flare

lamplighter · 09/06/2010 08:50

Does anyone remember Pam Ayres on a Sunday afternoon? Now that was one heck of a surreal show!

She once read out a letter from a woman who asked for a song to be played for her birthday (cue the start of strangeness) the letter went on to say how sad she was at the death of her mother and how lonely she had been since, she had never married or had a 'significant' other and had to work hard all her life etc etc. At this stage even I was looking for somewhere to hang the rope for myself. Then Pammie played her request.

It was the song 'I'm Just a Single Girl'.

YouTube it - you will get the picture. I forgave SW for everything Sunday Love Songs ever threw at me

shockers · 09/06/2010 09:09

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Tim Smith yet. Has he left SW? I stopped listening mostly because of him. He's a full of himself, talentless, drivel-filled twonk.

Also hated "Love the show", "Elaine Paige.... heheheheheh" and the fact that SW thought we would rather listen to his moronic voice than that of the original artiste's.

Grrrrr.

lottiejenkins · 09/06/2010 09:14

Oh and his David Jacobs impression "Hello there"

lamplighter · 09/06/2010 09:17

Also is Elaine Paige's laugh real? She sounds like Popeye

Chandon · 09/06/2010 09:19

Can[t stand it. always switch it off!

He is SO smug and full of himself, yuk

hope he reads this.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 09/06/2010 09:30
