Hi

I have just watched DIY sos and a perfectly pleasant woman had the most awful tattoos. Why on earth to people do this to themselves.

I do think there is the ocassional taateful tattoo but it is the odd one. Andy while it might look great on a fit 22 year old body a tattoo of any kind will NEVER look great in your 50s.

Isn't it a shame that we are in the 21st Century and people are still being judged on a personal choice that isn't affecting anyone else in any way whatsoever?

LackaDAISYcal · 31/05/2010 22:35

Couldn't agree more; I am totally gross

Gichin has a very bizarre view of how people express themselves.

and she's a twat.

Please. If you can't post anything constructive without making personal attacks, then perhaps you are on the wrong forum.

2shoes · 31/05/2010 22:36

yes Gichin
straight back at you
you have made rude assumtions about people.
so please follow your own advice

harleyd · 31/05/2010 22:36

gichin you really are an idiot

scurryfunge · 31/05/2010 22:36

Yey....Gichin fails to understand the irony of her posts!

I would not like to wear something that made people make value judgements about me without me opening my mouth... that is what happens with tattoos

Its not snobbery but a social fact

BritFish · 31/05/2010 22:42

' I like to think that my morals, kind nature, good work ethic, PhD in molecular biology (sorry folks, had to throw that in to counter the 'dim' argument), snappy yet sensible dress sense and my tattoos will, in their entirety, do (sic) a wonderful example to my daughters about being strong, intelligent and independent women. '

you are my new hero, please bring up my kids

Kaloki · 31/05/2010 22:44

I'd rather someone made negative judgements about me before I opened my mouth and were subsequently pleasantly surprised, than to have people make positive judgements about me, only to have me open my mouth and destroy that.

BusyMissIzzy · 31/05/2010 22:45

I disagree Posy, this thread surely demonstrates that not everyone judges people by whether or not they have tattoos. I think it takes a snob certain type of person to do that.

teaandcakeplease · 31/05/2010 22:45

I'm always kind on mumsnet but for once I have to say that I can't help thinking that if you express yourself like this in real life, you may have trouble making friends in the new part of the Country you have recently moved to

When I'm making friends I obviously prefer to hang about with kind people, who are easy company and pleasant to be around, than over opionated people who make harsh judgemental comments. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this am I?

Just because of the way you have responded throughout your threads has been rather horrid, it wasn't so much your initial posts but your attacks as the thread continued. If you're lonely now you've moved, why are you going out of your way to offend people on mumsnet? This forum could be a great support to you.

BTW I don't have a tattoo, but I do consider the mumsnet people my chums and they have been a great support to me in the last 6 months when my marriage broke down and whether they have a tattoo or not, makes no difference to me at all. This is a great community, why don't you make use of it in a more constructive way? Instead of alienating some of the best people on here?

AnnieLobeseder · 31/05/2010 22:45

BritFish - good lord, no, I can hardly stand my own! Thanks though (preens and hopes desperately that BritFish wasn't being facetious)

petisa · 31/05/2010 22:46

Oh ffs. I smell a rat that can't spell or punctuate. And it lives under a bridge. You can't be for real Gichin.

BusyMissIzzy · 31/05/2010 22:46

I'm sure she wasn't Annie, I found myself nodding my head while reading your post too. Very well put

teaandcakeplease · 31/05/2010 22:46

Sorry my comment is aimed at Ginchin.

harleyd · 31/05/2010 22:48

hiya

IMoveTheStars · 31/05/2010 22:48

You want constructive? (and no, I don't feel the need to post the response to my earlier post) then I would suggest that you widen your mindset to include people to have difference opinions to you.

Constructive - you are a troll by the simplest of internet definitions. You are not a typical MN troll, but you are a troll, like it or not.

You are also just wrong. Every single person on this earth is entitled to their own opinions about everything. NOBODY is entitled to tell another person they are wrong. Therefore you = twat.

IMoveTheStars · 31/05/2010 22:49

different* opinions. excuse typo.

petisa · 31/05/2010 22:50

Hello fancy meeting you here harley >

BusyMissIzzy · 31/05/2010 22:51

Jareth (love the nn btw), I agree wholeheartedly but you've just shot yourself in the foot by writing "You are also just wrong (...) NOBODY is entitled to tell another person they are wrong."

MNHubbie · 31/05/2010 22:51

Wh-Hoo Skitt's law in action! Any post correcting the spelling or grammar of another post shall itself contain at least on such error itself.

All the same I find poor use of the possessive apostrophe to be more offensive than any amount of tattoos on anyone.

And we have covered this all already this weekend, yawn.

petisa · 31/05/2010 22:52

Right I have to go to bed now before I get sillier!

BritFish · 31/05/2010 22:53

i wasnt Annie, trust me!

oh and Petisa, dont insult her spelling. she'll make a comment about how insensitive you would be being if she was dyslexic [even though she isnt]

harleyd · 31/05/2010 22:53

aye ano petisa, its like groundhog day isnt it
