You mentioned about a friend who was a bit of a character, no longer with us and was semi famous. I'm pretty sure I know who that was and I loved the band they were in. I'd love to ask you more about them.

No, YANBU - speaking as one who wastes hours lurking but is still relatively anonymous, I wish I had the willpower to Just Go.

But just as I think, ffs, this is such a waste of time, I find an informative/touching/hilarious thread or post that locks me back in again.

I do recall donating to a collection for someone who was leaving due to RL ishoos, and was slightly to see her back again quite soon after - to be fair, she hadn't started the collection, but it made me more distanced, which is probably No Bad Thing.
