to think that if a Mumsnetter is planning to leave this site she should bloody well be allowed to say goodbye without being jeered at and booed off the stage?

Don't go Bibbity. I tried real life and it was crap.

bibbitybobbityhat · 26/05/2010 23:24

Now, now, calm down everyone. No need to panic yet . There will be a party WITH a fish and chip supper and everyone will be invited.

I am on a diet so it would be far easier for me if you stayed.

AliGrylls · 26/05/2010 23:38

It won't last. I tried to make myself not come on here for a whole week - by the end of the week I had itchy fingers and needed some good old fashioned arguing debate

SirBoobAlot · 26/05/2010 23:48

Bibbity, don't you go leaving me here with these nutters strangers on my own!

sapell3 · 26/05/2010 23:59

YANBU.

LittleMissHissyFit · 27/05/2010 00:10

Oh well if you have to go, you have to go, you will be missed.

But we all know that you'll be back... maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life.....

mwuahhh ha ha ha ha!

shockers · 27/05/2010 00:26

They're right... it draws you back no matter how hard you try to resist....

Housework??

MrsRhettButler · 27/05/2010 00:43

are you going properly? like dereging? can you give me a heads up so i can steal use your name in rememberence of you

but yea, if you do have to go we'll defo have a party and anyone who tells you to 'fuck off quietly and close the door behind you' will get shouted down by a load of drunk women! it'll be fun!

SpringHeeledJack · 27/05/2010 00:47

wha'????

porcamiseria · 27/05/2010 08:49

off you fuck

only joking!!!!! I hate it when peo[=ple say that here.

take a break bit its a tad attention seeking to accounce it no? just quietly go, this is NOT RL

southeastastra · 27/05/2010 08:52

i do sort of think it's a mistake to flounce becasue of board issues - people always come back .

BitOfFun · 27/05/2010 09:10

I don't think it's attention seeking to explain to people that you are off-, and perhaps why. I think it's nice to say cheerio and thanks for the laughs. Polite, even. I think that if people can start threads about mundane things like their dog farting, then they should be perfectly entitled to bid farewell to people they may have spent months or years chatting to. It will only be words on a screen to a few, but will mean something to many others.

Sorry you're leaving bibbety

but the 'b' on my keyboard is a bit relieved

SpringHeeledJack · 27/05/2010 14:20

C'mon Bib. Spill beans.

...am dying to know what's more pressing in RL

bibbitybobbityhat · 27/05/2010 14:43

Nowt bad.

Just fed up really.

Very deeply annoyed about the almost daily threads harping on about what a load of bullies we are.

And at threads having to be deleted because the mud-slinging gets so severe.

And at mnhq deleting posts at posters request as if that makes everything alright again.

Its not very edifying is it?

But, yet, I am very fond of some individual posters (even ScottishMummy ) so do not want to just sod off.

I am SO not gonna flounce.

P.S. Springy, our friend in PENGE is getting married. Bromley Reg office and then a do at a restaurant in Herne Hill. Not sure what that says about PENGE exactly, but he did live in Herne Hill for about 15 years and most of his friends, including me and dh, are more in that direction.

Done any house hunting yet?

I think if someone decides they have outgrown MN or that they need to have a break then they should be allowed to say, I am off for a bit, thanks and goodbye without getting slated

wukter · 27/05/2010 14:49

But bibbity if you leave the nice/nasty ratio is even worse.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 27/05/2010 14:55

Bibbity -- I know we are not well acquainted but, um, I think you're cool. Would hate to see you go. (And fwiw, I don't think I have ever posted on a thread like this before.)

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 27/05/2010 15:00

I've had six months off, came back 3 days ago.

Nobody gave a damn.

Now you can all say 'but who the fuck are you?'
