...are getting overbearing in their posts to the point that others are put off posting or feel they have to grovel/apologise for their posts because they expect to get flamed.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 10/05/2010 16:15

i lost track of mine.

AnyFucker · 10/05/2010 16:21

so uncouth, expat

thinker · 10/05/2010 16:32

Im a newbie and was a bit shocked at the response on AIBU but I love it, I get an adrenalin rush now when I check the respones, I appreciate the honesty, and after all I am inviting peoples opinions, cant expect fluffy shite, it so boring. It really arms you for the real life debates in the pub, you should hear me go now after Ive been reading this. I actually hold my own with all the middle class men about politics now its great.

Magaly · 10/05/2010 16:33

Anyfucker, haven't read the other thread but you are right. SO often on the whine about my husband threads, the OP's starting point is that they are not leaving. And If OP is certain she'll never leave no matter how crappily she's treated then she has no negotiating power, no bargaining power nothing just a tattoo saying carry on treating me likd shit on her forehead.

You just point that out to people. Sometimes the moment when one's forcefield of denial is penetrated it is quite painful., I get that.

Hullygully · 10/05/2010 16:33

That is very sweet, thinkerkins.

Magaly · 10/05/2010 16:34

split up, rather than leave I should say.

FluffyVacuity · 10/05/2010 16:35

Anyfucker - you held my hand when that weird thread with err some weird people, went erm weird. You know, the one where ysl make up and ww2 sprang up from nowhere?

I'll always remember

Shodan · 10/05/2010 16:36

This thread reminds me of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, for some reason, featuring The SteelFairy2 as the dormouse....

There's always a balanced aggressive post on the other side of a shitty one....usually someone comes along and fights for the 'losing side' and so 's'all good!

usualsuspect · 10/05/2010 16:43

I can never remember who said what and when so meh

FluffyVacuity · 10/05/2010 16:47

Thinker FLUFFY is not shite thank you very much.

AnyFucker · 10/05/2010 18:09

fluffy, I have no idea what you are talking about

Magaly, I agree. I have never been one to ignore an elephant in a room. I don't think I am mean, though. Other posters may disagree (obviously)

incidentally, the poster on the other thread that this is really all about (the one I am supposed to have shown no kindness to, whatsover, who is supposed to be scared of posting because of people like me) is absolutely Ok and feeling a little bit embarassed that her one "don't flame me, please" comment has caused such a furore...and she never said anyone was mean, nor, more to the point, not pointing out the truth as hard as it may be to see it in black and white

< shrugs >

posieparker · 10/05/2010 18:11

I am that woman who won't leave but probably shouldn't stay....not enough money to split!!

FluffyVacuity · 10/05/2010 18:15

AF - For the love of God woman. It was all going swimmingly re something, can't remember what now, then someone mentioned the poor spelling of the op (accept and except think it was) and all hell let loose in a surreal manner hence the YSL and WW2. Never quite got what the hell was going on, we legged it to safety

were you under your current name, fluffy ? ...anyways, it don't matter

FluffyVacuity · 10/05/2010 18:21

No probably under DeFluff. God don't tell me i've got you mixed up with Aitch? I always get you two mixed up. Actually no i can't have cos someone was saying your name was an affront to all humanity or somesuch, that can't apply to 'aitch' can it?

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 10/05/2010 18:22

I think that once you have been here a while you simply care less about offending people and don't jump up and apologise profusely as soon as someone takes issue with anything you say

Like when you are settled with a group of friends, you can really be yourself and say what you really think.

If you are analysing the behaviour of other posters instead of posting stuff yourself....

I don't grovel. But I do occasionally apologise. I think I am pitifully needy.

and I never post on AIBU

AnyFucker · 10/05/2010 18:26

Ah , I remember now

Am I expected to know all your name-changes by osmosis or summat ???

Do me a favour, fluffy. Tell aitch you got her mixed up with me. But make sure you have very strong body armour on

I apologise quite a lot.

However, that may just reflect the way I put my size 6's in with such alarming regularity
