LOL at "flying by the seat of your pants" in relation to caravans - they are a bugger to park.

But I know what you mean about static, caravans, campers - they are like a little den, a wendy house (I clean ours way more than the real house). Also, the amazing fact that we can spend hours together as a family in a space the size of our smallest bedroom at home, and not kill each other ... amazing ...

AnyFucker · 11/05/2010 18:46

jamie...you have one too ?

I love ours...we call it our "country pile" and our usual house "the city crash-pad"

spend most weekends there (no internet, either...)

Jamieandhismagictorch · 11/05/2010 18:48

yes! I live in London - and our poor sad DSs call this small patch of bushes in the park "the Wilderness" - I love that when we go away we can just chuck em out and find other urchins to play with.

Wot U got ?

AnyFucker · 11/05/2010 18:56

make and model you mean ?

Cosalt Riverdale

looky here

how about you ?

MNHubbie · 11/05/2010 19:00

Jamieandhismagictorch · 11/05/2010 19:02

Oh dear - crossed wires . We've got a VW Campervan (1986) - hence the peeing into a saucepan. But we are still sisters in spirit AF ....

Bloody hell - that is a country pile

AnyFucker · 11/05/2010 19:02

MNH ???

MNHubbie · 11/05/2010 19:54

Biscuits were being offered I took one.

kittywise · 11/05/2010 19:55

They've always been overbearing tbh, there are some that simply like to do it.

AnyFucker · 11/05/2010 20:24

MNHubbie · 11/05/2010 20:29

Too late

Angelcat666 · 11/05/2010 21:56

lol @MN

I fond memories of childhood holidays in static caravans. Also took DS and DD on 3 caravan holidays and really enjoyed them, even though it did rain all but one day on the last one

amelia02 · 12/05/2010 13:02

Good grief ... that's enough to put you off isn't it? Shall we all start pulling each others hair and doing chinese burns? I feel it would be in the same vein but somewhat less nasty!
(shuffles back to corner to spy and not be beaten up)

Oblomov · 12/05/2010 13:10

where are we with this thread now. please. i have got a bit lost. can someone summarise ?

BelleDameSansMerci · 12/05/2010 13:17

Static caravans, it would seem.

Having been (wait for it) born in one, I fail to see their appeal...

Oblomov · 12/05/2010 13:27

thanks belle.
right so we are currently on peeing in saucepans, in static caravans.
oh i can particate in this. did so last week. no actually, i pissed in a bucket. so i guess thta doesn't count. in the middle of the night. becasue the toilet wasn't working.

don't you just love the direction some threads take ?

thricenay · 12/05/2010 13:57

OP here, thought I'd better look-in on this increasingly desperate thread since I was daft enought to start it.
I must apologise Anyfucker for criticising you (even though I didn't criticise you). I made the age-old mistake that people who feel free to dish their opinions out to others night and day would of course have no problem with taking a little bit in return. If I had realised how insecure you are I would never have made the very mild remark I did. There.

Lizzylou · 12/05/2010 14:03

AF, is it you who has a country pile near Morecambe Bay? THink we have spoken about it before, we spend a lot of time up at PILs country pile near Ingleton

That was a gorgeous apology, Op, brought a tear to my eye.

Oblomov · 12/05/2010 14:05

nice apology. genuine.

thricenay · 12/05/2010 14:07

What apology was that then...?

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 12/05/2010 14:08

yep, tis me Lizzy

Thrice...I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sincere apology and I accept it willingly and with good grace.

Now have a biscuit, why don't you ?
