To think that Gordon Brown is a fucking megalomaniac who should be removed from No10 for his and our safety?

The man must be on the edge: "OK, you've voted against me/my party in your thousands, but guess what? I don't care and will cling on to my bit of power for dear life because I am Gordon and I must be right."

I've never been so annoyed by politics in my life.

I know it might come to nothing anyway, but the bloody cheek of it all!

Drlove, great minds cross post

BalloonSlayer · 07/05/2010 17:10

And now we see that Brown is SUCH a megalomaniac that he has given Cameron first crack at trying to form a Government, instead of having the first crack himself, which is his right under the rules.

Which is the right thing to do. And what I would expect from Brown.

So do we get a retraction from all those people asserting that Brown is desperately trying to hold on to power.

HumphreyCobbler · 07/05/2010 17:10

I think it is perfectly reasonable to be annoyed by attempts by Gordon Brown to stay put. I am a Tory voter, after all.

I do understand how the electoral system works actually.

I am just a bit gutted.

Not that it is likely to happen now anyway, though god knows what is.

drloves8 · 07/05/2010 17:10

@ tweetymum !
Good point about the insults .... if the polititions stopped slagging each other off and explained their policys more then im sure more people would have voted and we wouldnt be looking at a hung parliment. AT LEAST 3 PEOPLE i know have said they didnt vote because polititions are all the same , they just argue with each other and no one really knows what they are doing.

BalloonSlayer · 07/05/2010 17:11

I meant to add an after my first paragraph to emphasise the fact I was being ironic, just in case it wasn't obvious...

HumphreyCobbler · 07/05/2010 17:12

It is painfully obvious he gave up because is wasn't going to get away with it.

drloves8 · 07/05/2010 17:13

i predict a tory- libdem goverment then another election within the year and then labour being voted back in..... just watch.

HumphreyCobbler · 07/05/2010 17:13

that is even more gutting

drloves8 · 07/05/2010 17:15

humphreycobbler - enough of the gordon bashing ! Lets just see what happens , and hope the right mix gets the job done.

BalloonSlayer · 07/05/2010 17:17

I hope that Cameron decides to go on with a minority government, with an election later in the year. Then he will have to prove himself in the job. And if he is craptastic we get to get rid of him in less than a year. And if he isn't - well phew.

HumphreyCobbler · 07/05/2010 17:18

I will never have enough Gordon bashing

Fair enough, they are still going on about Thatcher after all

tweetymum · 07/05/2010 17:19

There are more important things at the moment to worry about and its imperative that any government need to make sure that the parties work together to bring about change.

That said, Drlove I do agree with your prediction. We're going to have another election soon.

HumphreyCobbler · 07/05/2010 17:22

well I quite agree, that is why I hoped for a clear tory majority

I can't really see Nick going for David's offer, although I have missed all coverage since about three.

Any news?

LordPanofthePeaks · 07/05/2010 17:26

Gordy has every right to form a govt. IF the arrangement has the majority needed. Unfortunately it looks like that will be problematic in acheiving 326 seats. Still, Gordy leading a Lib/Lab pact is infinitely better than letting DC and his chums anywhere near the purse.

LordPanofthePeaks · 07/05/2010 17:29

and DC is looking a bit pushy and desperate, doing a dance of seduction in Nick's direction so so soon. Tart.

pocketmonster · 07/05/2010 17:39

It's funny how the first past the post electoral system we have - that has always been the Conservatives system of choice, suddenly isn't too convenient and they now want to ignore the constitution, in their calls for GB to go. The FACT is that GB has the first call at forming a government, no matter what NC or DC say. You really can't have it all ways.

HumphreyCobbler · 07/05/2010 17:51

about as funny as Labour making a death bed conversion to political reform

drloves8 · 07/05/2010 17:57

yay - funny as GB Giving DC first crack....Can you not admit HumphreyCobbler that your secretly pleased about that?
