To think that Gordon Brown is a fucking megalomaniac who should be removed from No10 for his and our safety?

The man must be on the edge: "OK, you've voted against me/my party in your thousands, but guess what? I don't care and will cling on to my bit of power for dear life because I am Gordon and I must be right."

I've never been so annoyed by politics in my life.

I know it might come to nothing anyway, but the bloody cheek of it all!

It makes me feel ill. They were just talking about the possibility of two parties who have lost seats (not sure why Lib Dems have done so badly) coming together to cling onto power. It would be a disgrace if that happened.

CaveMum · 07/05/2010 08:21

If Labour do not have the majority of the votes, Gordon Brown should not be PrimeMinister.

At the moment the Conservatives have 286 seats and Labour and LibDems combined have 288 with 49 seats still to declare.

It is too close to call.

Alouiseg · 07/05/2010 08:21

Op I couldn't agree more.

Waiting with baited breath for a resignation.

LittleMrsHappy · 07/05/2010 08:25

I think personally want to see what they did in 1974 where we went back to the ballot box.

I I dont want a hung parliament, I dont think it s workable at all, both want different things for our country, I personally dont see it workable at all.

mangoandlime · 07/05/2010 08:25

"To allege that the reason Gordon Brown has not conceded defeat yet is because he is a megalomaniac is as ridiculous as saying that the reason David Cameron has not claimed victory yet is because he is so sweet, shy and retiring that he can't bear all the fuss".

Absolutely, Balloonslayer and I agree with Tweetie.

I have far, far more confidence in Gordon Brown than the 'others'.

wubblybubbly · 07/05/2010 08:28

"David Cameron has not claimed victory yet is because he is so sweet, shy and retiring that he can't bear all the fuss".

lol mangoandlime

mangoandlime · 07/05/2010 08:30

I can't claim that as my quote, sadly!

ifancyashandy · 07/05/2010 08:30

What Tweetymum said. But I am a Labour supporter too.

pinkgrapefruitjuice · 07/05/2010 08:35

Why should he go if there is no majority for another party? its hardly looking like a landslide victory is it?

i'm not anti labour but still think he really cant carry on as PM since under his leadership his party have effectively lost the election.

whether labour/lib dems make some coalition is a different issue but i think it has to be under different leadership.

expatinscotland · 07/05/2010 08:59

YABU.

I think Camerone is a 'fucking megalomaniac' who shouldn't be allowed in no. 10 for announcing his party have already won when, well, they haven't.

You find that the most annoying thing when thousands of our countrymen were disenfranchised, completely illegally, because their districts couldn't be arsed to prepare adequately for record numbers citizens exercising their right to vote?

That's pretty fucking sickening.

They got more votes than Gordon though.

If they didn't win, he certainly didn't.

The appalling situation with the voting is a different issue to being dismayed by Gordon Brown STILL managing to be PM.

Who do we blame for that then?

Bucharest · 07/05/2010 09:05

Are people still going on about Brown not being elected PM?
No shit Sherlock.
That might of course be that the political system in the UK means we vote for parties not leaders who are chosen as the hierarchies of the parties see fit.
But of course, you might all be right and it might be a cunning plan undertaken by a megalomaniac.
Winston Churchill was PM twice despite never having been elected either.

LittleMrsHappy · 07/05/2010 09:06

well that what they call a hung parliament, nobody has won

so why the "we won", "no you didn't"

Nobody frinking won!

HumphreyCobbler · 07/05/2010 09:07

Bloody hell, we are allowed to be ANNOYED by it, no?

Beachcomber · 07/05/2010 09:08

Despairing at the ignorance over how the British parliamentary system works.

It isn't about the man, it is about the party.

Others have said it better.

Doodleydoo · 07/05/2010 09:10

secondcoming - ooh can't wait for that! Being that there is no clear majority anywhere has completely screwed up the financial markets with the pound being the lowest it has been against the dollar. Flipping whoopee, expect will be doing all this again in 6 months time whilst our currency gets weaker or remains weak, whilst we are all in a stalemate position and no one really has any power because they are all meglomaniacs who want to be in charge! So no one is going to give in and let the other win. Frankly yesterday seems to have been a complete waste of time, although apparently not for the green party.
And I suppose if you go on actual votes made the conservatives are ahead rather than constituencies won. All most bizaare.

Bramshott · 07/05/2010 09:16

What else can he do this morning though?! Imagine the mess we'd be in this morning if he just said "okay guys, I'm off!". Much better that he stays in place at least until early next week, while the final results come in and all the wheeling and dealing gets going. Presumably there are still functions of government which need to happen in the meantime?!
