To think that Victoria Beckham is a bit of a national treasure?

I like her.

She works hard, has raised 3 sons and seems to do so well, was successful in one career (no matter what we may think of the Spice Girls), is supportive of her husband yet has been successful in starting another career.

I love the design of her dresses.

I think she is a good egg. God knows why she inspires such vitriol.

SHe takes herself too seriously IME.
Her boys are gorgeous though and seem very ordanry.

Earthstar · 26/04/2010 22:13

Has it in her power to use her money to change the lives of so many people for the better and yet chooses not to. She is obscenely rich and selfish. Why on earth would we treasure those values?

scottishmummy · 26/04/2010 22:14

skinny profligate consumer is not worthy of adoration and praise.

Francagoestohollywood · 26/04/2010 22:15

Lol at finding posh and similar celebs turgid. I agree with SM!

scottishmummy · 26/04/2010 22:17

jordan, posh, wags.all speak your weight attention seekers.habitually in papers yet protest want they seek privacy

anonacfr · 26/04/2010 22:32

She's basically admitted she doesn't design her own dresses.
In that interview quoted, she says she doesn't draw but claim a lot of designers don't.

Erm, right.

She basically gets some minions to draw and cut a dress and then tries it on and decides if she likes it or not.

Can I be a designer please?a

Mumcentreplus · 26/04/2010 22:33

sits next to SM and decides to share her cinema sweet...

notposhorskinny · 26/04/2010 22:45

Just wondering DeborahDevonshire, are you Victoria Beckham?

Earthstar · 26/04/2010 22:52

OP is presumably VB's mum

noeyedear · 26/04/2010 23:06

No she's not a national treasure, she's a vacuous 'celebrity' with little or no talent, apart from shameless self promotion. She was the least talented of the Spice Girls (see solo career) is as much a fashion designer as Jordan is an author and has an army of nannies to look after her kids. Someone I know sat near her at a football match, and she ignored the kids until she saw the cameras on her and then was all over them- what a life! She's a terrible role model to girls. When she was in the Spice Girls she was never that thin, so she clearly isn't naturally skeletal, and she's just competely obsessed with her image. God! I didn't mean to go on so much, but I really hate the whole wag/celeb culture. I teach teenage girls and I despair sometimes at their image and ambitions. I'm glad I have a boy, as I don't know how you tell girls that this is not right. I think most of it started with her.

ChazsBarmyArmy · 26/04/2010 23:12

And lets not forget her girlish "don't mention the alleged mummy tuck along with the c section" figure". Something all teenage girls can aspire too.

Bitter and twisted moi!

I too am a national treasure working mum, main breadwinner, mumsnetter par excellence

DeborahDevonshire · 27/04/2010 08:16

Ah, Scottishmummy thought you meant who are you, waht are you fir was referring to posters not VB.

No, i am not Victoria Beckham (not with this arse).

I don't think she she shoulod be awarded the MBE or owt. Or should be a UN ambassador.

Oh well, misjudged that one!
