to find this tattoo a bit creepy?

I saw a young woman today with a tattoo on her shoulder that said "Daddy's little girl". AIBU to find that rather creepy?

It's great if she loves her Dad, but anyone who is old enough to have a tattoo is no longer a "little girl", surely.

YABU

I don't think it is creepy. I am still daddy's little girl and always will be. Ok so I wouldn't tattoo i onmyself but hey...

Maybe her dad died when she was young or something along those lines?

BitOfFun · 12/04/2010 21:07

It's a bit yuck. YANBU. And very off-putting for a bloke if they ever have sex from behind. Unless he is also a bit creepy, I suppose. Am I over-thinking this?

EricNorthmansmistress · 12/04/2010 21:07

this is weird especially with the naked lady underneath it!

SawneyBeane · 12/04/2010 21:09

Would you want to date a man with a tattoo that read "Mummy's Little Soldier"?

Icky.

nickytwotimes · 12/04/2010 21:10

It is a bit yuk, yes.

BitOfFun · 12/04/2010 21:11

Mummy's Little Soldier, pmsl

Nancy66 · 12/04/2010 21:13

I find it really creepy when any adult calls their parents 'mummy' or 'daddy'

DramaInPyjamas · 12/04/2010 21:13

Doesn't Amy Winehouse have a 'Daddy's Little Girl' tattoo?

nickytwotimes · 12/04/2010 21:14

Don't mind the Mummy/Daddy thing at all. Most of my Irish pals use those.
It's the little girl bit that is yuk.

AnyFucker · 12/04/2010 21:15

eww, that is a bit weird

YANBU

SolidGoldBrass · 12/04/2010 21:17

It's probably, as MeltedChocolate says, something she had done in memory of a dead father. It is fairly proletarian, though (as are all tattoos with names in IMO...) but not worth getting your undies in a bundle.

AuraofDora · 12/04/2010 21:21

bit weirdy

Jaggers · 12/04/2010 22:05

thats yucky..............but then again I really hate name tattoos!

ChippingIn · 12/04/2010 22:05

I really dislike tattoos, but this one wouldn't bother me any more than any other and I have seen far worse!!

petisa · 12/04/2010 23:06

Lol at Mummy's Little Soldier!

Don't think it's particularly creepy, as others have said, maybe her dad passed away or she's really close to her dad or something.

Don't like tattoos with names or writing at all either, but at least she didn't get the name of her latest boyfriend tattooed on her! My dp's a tattoo artist, and that's the only thing he really sticks his nose in about and comments, as in, "Are you really really sure you want a tattoo with your girl/boyfriend's name in it??"

Rollmops · 13/04/2010 08:13

All tattoos are creepy, the ultimate tramp-stamps
Expects a river of profanities from hordes of tattooed MNers....
[yaaaawn]

ditavionteased · 13/04/2010 08:16

wow that didn't take long to turn into all tattoo are tacky blah di blah blah blah.

FacePalm · 13/04/2010 09:12

well, Rollmops, I have three tattoos but I am not going to hit you with the "river if profanities" that you seem to want to expect!

I had mine done as I wanted them done, it has nothing to do with anyone else, and you are just showing your own ignorance by proving that you judge solely on appearance!

I really think "tramp stamp" is a horrible term...and I think it says more about the person saying it than the person with the tattoo.

OsbegaEthewulf · 13/04/2010 09:17

Quite...'arse antlers' is a much better expression

DramaInPyjamas · 13/04/2010 09:33

I wasn't sure what a 'tramp stamp'.. So just been on Google Images..
Some are a bit extreme and.. well, icky.

Tattoos can beautiful if done right. (I don't have any btw)
But it's not really fair to brand everyone who has one a tramp though! It's a bit snobby if you ask me.

DramaInPyjamas · 13/04/2010 09:35

above What a 'tramp stamp' (WAS)

BritFish · 13/04/2010 11:05

rofl 'arse antlers'
the only thing with 'tramp stamps' is that i only about 1 out of every 10 i see are actually nice and have meaning. some random tribal design with no meaning is just lack of imagination, sorry. and i love tattooes. good ones.

'daddy's little girl'
yukky, but if in memory of a dead dad cant really complain i guess.
what creeps me out [and i know im going to get flamed] is when people have children who have passed away tattooed onto them. its a lovely sentiment, but i couldnt sleep with a man knowing whilst staring into the eyes of his poor deads child, id feel really ashamed, like i was violating a gravestone or something.

petisa · 13/04/2010 23:52

Sorry to disappoint you Rollmops. I am quite tattooed but not at all foul mouthed. And I am certainly not interested that you think I am creepy-looking nor am I interested in what you look like for that matter. Judgey judgey judgey away.

TinyPawz · 14/04/2010 00:03

I have seen 'Daddy's girl' on the small of a womans back.

Amused the hell out of me. "Daddy" was her OH

petisa · 14/04/2010 00:12

Ewwwww! Now I'm being judgey, but really, her OH, ewwwwww!
