or is it just a load of outdated, sexist guff?

this

a facebook 'friend' (who frankly should know better) has been 'sharing'.

Am I missing something? If not, please help me by suggesting an appropriate comment to stick on it.

taffetacat · 08/04/2010 21:39

I don't think its sexist. It is, however, funny. But only in a mild chuckle way.

Alouiseg · 08/04/2010 21:39

...........but then I am 42. So maybe the target market, as an old.

zippy539 · 08/04/2010 21:41

Very funny. (But over forty and used to work on a typewriter!)

Abundantia · 08/04/2010 21:41

No need for the "blonde" bit, but other than that I think it's hilarious.

WeNeedToLeaveInFiveMinutes · 08/04/2010 21:42

You do get that the point is that when she was last at work they used typewriters. And you do know that typewriters had to be manually pushed on to the next line? So she's typing and then "moving the paper" on. Only the paper isn't paper anymore, it's a screen?

I'm only 43 but lots of "proper", old fashioned secretaries I knew were still using typewriters fifteen years ago. And they weren't all old, either!

How old was she when she was last at work then? She didn't look old enough to have been in work, then out of it for 30 years.

A bit sexist yes, but quite funny too.

LittleMissHissyFit · 08/04/2010 21:43
  1. tee hee
champagnesupernova · 08/04/2010 21:43

I am only 32 and I got it.

Vallhala · 08/04/2010 21:45

That's me, that is!

Val, an over-40 yo with a stupid sense of humour.

fulltimeworkingmum · 08/04/2010 21:48

Who is offended by this??

lincstash · 08/04/2010 21:48

No

I worked in Local Government/Schools IT more than 20 years. Ive seen teachers and social workers do far more stupid things than that with PC's..........

In my 20s, and laughing!

sudoku · 08/04/2010 21:54

Very funny... Must add that I am blonde... and Swedish, what's the problem?!!!

seeker · 08/04/2010 21:55

Regardless of who did it, the first 4 seconds or so was funny.

What ruins it is the repetition, the explanation and the "blond" thing.
