WIBU to complain to the MD's office?

OK. Am STILL WAITING for a parcel that was guaranteed delivery yesterday. Have rung the depot numerous times to try to find out where it is and what's happening (and whether they were redelivering on the promised AM redelivery. They weren't...).
On last phonecall, having finally had enough with the patronising attitude of 'if your parcel hasn't been delivered, tough', yes I shouted at the guy on the phone ('execrable service' and 'parcelfarce' might have been mentioned ). And yes, I realise I shouldn't have shouted. But seriously. All they needed to say was 'sorry, we'll sort this out', rather than having a basic attitude of 'well you can't expect us to deliver everything now can you? So it's guaranteed. So what?'. Anyway, I'd requested a manager ring me back, and he did, but when he put down the phone and went to speak to his staff/driver to find out what was happening, I heard myself being referred to in fairly uncomplimentary terms ('proper screamer' being one). Then the manager rang the driver and told him I 'had the painters in and was going mad'. I pointed out gently that I'd heard every word. No apology. Just 'well they get shouted at all the time'.
So. WIBU to then ring the MD's office and put in a complaint about the staff? I mean, FFS. We've all complained about an awkward customer before but you don't fucking do it in their earshot, do you...
And there goes my swearing cherry on mumsnet...

YABU

all you had to do was to say,"can you please sort this out, pretty please," with a cherry in your mouth.

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 01/04/2010 11:25

But, everytime, I did. Very nicely. 5 times. 5 put-on-hold-for-ages-premium-rate-phone-call-times. To be met with the same 'don't give a shit' attitude. Meanwhile I am stuck in the one room in my house in which I can actually hear the door. Still. Despite the manager promising it'd be here by 11.

OP posts:
everytimeyouarenear · 01/04/2010 11:28

But you shouldn't have lost your cherry and carried on asking 5 more times.you only win a war by attrition, although not by 11am.

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 01/04/2010 11:29

And what I complained to the MD's office about wasn't the lack of parcel, it was the fact that they were so bloody rude about me, in my earshot, having patronised me to hell and back and refused to sort the problem out on the 5 occasions I'd rung. So WIreallyBU to complain about that?

OP posts:
everytimeyouarenear · 01/04/2010 11:30

they wouldn't have been rude to you if you hadn't shouted.

Er not sure I'm getting you. Why shouldn't I keep on asking where something I need, that was supposed to be here yesterday, is? They kept telling me they'd ring me back, and each time I'd give them an hour or so, and they didn't. I do have stuff to do today that involves not being tied to the house..
(and the losing of cherry comment related to me saying 'fuck' on mumsnet for the first time, not to the conversation with the depot, btw).

everytime I shouted purely BECAUSE they were being bloody rude to me. Because I don't think telling me to shut up is acceptable when I'm asking valid questions. And anyway, they weren't rude to my face, they made unpleasant, sexist comments behind my back when they didn't realise I was still holding.
Screaming, they were horrified at both the cavalier attitude of 'well we'll get it to you when we can be arsed' and at the comments.
And it's still not bloody here.

YANBU

I would have left them without a name if I heard them say all that about me. Ignorance.

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 01/04/2010 11:38

oh I see it's the other half of my username. CUK? Suffering a massive sense of humour failure, sorry.

OP posts:
everytimeyouarenear · 01/04/2010 11:40

In the end you lost it and swore at them and you expect them to be complimentary to you? You should have kept the cherry in your mouth so you are partly to blame for their lousy customer service.

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 01/04/2010 11:42

Where did I say I swore at them? Since when was 'execrable' a swearword? If you're going to troll my thread in an attempt to wind me up even further, at least read the OP first.

OP posts:
everytimeyouarenear · 01/04/2010 11:46

I am not trolling your thread.I am testing your reactions in the face of unreasonable and illogical provocation to see if the MD call was reasonable.

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 01/04/2010 11:46

Oh and thankyou Fruity.

YANBU doesn't matter what a customer says to you, its not personable its about the company and the service you do not talk about them like that when they can hear you

Lonnie · 01/04/2010 11:48

YANBU over wanting the parcel when they promise

the shouting YABU even if they had attitude

a simple what is your name please writing it down and stating I wish to speak to your manager will go far further than allowing your frustration to take over

hugs though it is SOOO annoying to wait for

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 01/04/2010 11:48

and since I haven't told you to fuck off yet what are your impressions? .

Lonnie I know I WBU to shout (and btw I did apologise to the guy concerned).
Lovebeingamummy, totally. All they had to do was put me on hold!
And my last post was directed at everytime, btw.

OP posts:
whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 01/04/2010 11:54

Screaming, thanks! Am nice and calm now, anyway, although really unsure what's going on now. Depot manager has just rung to say he's on his way to take it off the van and bring it here himself.
