A warning for all those with P+T space rage...

geordieminx · 27/03/2010 20:08

Friend asked a bloke to move out of P+T space today as he didnt have kids.. she has 4 yo twins..

She came back to find her tyres slashed.

Its not worth the agro is it? Sometimes its easier just to find somewhere else to park.

I suppose the scariest thing is that he actually had a knife to slash them...

Bloody hell, your poor friend!

ImSoNotTelling · 27/03/2010 20:13

Has she reported it? Hopefully they will have CCTV of whoever did it and be able to get him nicked.

That is really scary.

wonka · 27/03/2010 20:14

CCTV Hope she gets him on camera and his Reg and involves the police!

differentID · 27/03/2010 20:14

Is she ok? Did the car park have cctv?

Silver1 · 27/03/2010 20:16

Geordiemix Very frightening, I agree especially the bit about having a knife with him to do that .

You are right though some things are not worth the aggro.

Our Sainsburys tried fining people who mis-used spaces, but they stopped after a couple of weeks.

geordieminx · 27/03/2010 20:30

It was asda.

She has contacted store, they are going to try and look at CCTV etc but you know what its like.

This is the asda that is shut every weekend between 2am and 6am as they had so much trouble

She is fine thankfully.

I have to admit I have made my feelings on tossers people parking in P&T spaces before, but have decided as of today will never mention it again.

Not worth the hassle is it?

MiladyDeWinter · 27/03/2010 20:35

People can be absolute cunts, can't they? I don't often swear but I feel this warrants it.

Agree OP, wtf was he doing carrying something to slash the tyres with?

BrahmsThirdRacket · 27/03/2010 20:37

So because a couple of twats do things like this, no one should ever challenge thoughtless behaviour?

Is that the end of civilised society I see hovering into view?

geordieminx · 27/03/2010 20:57

I'm not saying that you should t challenge thoughtless behaviour, but sometimes, I think you have to weigh up the benefits v possible outcomes.

Lets be honest here, no-one that parks in a P+T space without child, when confronted is going to say "you know what, you are right, I'm a thoughtless inconsiderate dick for parking there, I'll move my motor right now, and I'll never park there again"

There is nothing to be achieved by mentioning it, other than venting your own anger, and as demonstrated today, a whole lot to loose. Thankfully, in my friends' case it was a £100 tyre, not one of her kids, or her own life.

Rememeber the teenager that asked a gang to stop throwing chips at his girlfriend on the bus.. they killed him

dizzydixies · 27/03/2010 21:00

tell me she's also called the police and not just asda

geordieminx · 27/03/2010 21:07

Yeah I think so.

OP posts:
southeastastra · 27/03/2010 21:08

that's an extreme reaction though, definitely a moron after a fight - rare i would have thought

Meglet · 27/03/2010 21:12

How crap

I have to say if I was going to moan at someone for parking in a P&T space I'd be careful and pick the 'right' person. ie: business man with his company car - yes, shify looking bloke with mates and dog in tow - um, no.

Even then I haven't had the balls to moan at anyone yet.

geordieminx · 27/03/2010 21:15

You can never tell though can you?

yy - I know what you mean about "picking your person"... if I ever speak up its always as I am leaving... never as going into store.

"no-one that parks in a P+T space without child, when confronted is going to say "you know what, you are right, I'm a thoughtless inconsiderate dick for parking there, I'll move my motor right now, and I'll never park there again"

Just posted this on another thread but I saw a young bloke with no kids park in one once and I said really nicely "be careful parking there without kids as they can fine you £50 for doing it"

and he thanked me very genuinely and moved the car.

daisychainz · 27/03/2010 21:22

I get upset when people use the P+T parking spaces too but its not worth getting into a argument with a stranger over it. Nowadays you never know who is going to have a weapon on them. There should be a policy by the supermarkets to penilise people taking avantage over these spaces.

trixymalixy · 28/03/2010 00:47

Bloody hell Geordie!

Was it hamilton asda?

scottishmummy · 28/03/2010 00:53

or worse coatbrig?maryhill?

butterscotch · 28/03/2010 02:08

How scary is that there is a AIBU thread about parking which I've just posted about how I don't challenge people these days as you never know if someone has a knife on them etc...

I'm becoming a wimp society has definately lost respect!

Glad your friend was helpful I had to be the barer of bad news, but when I got mugged in an Asda carpark they didn't have cctv and furthermore they wouldn't let me identify the attackers on the instore cctv.....due to data f'ing protection!

I had the car registration 3 witnesses, and told the police when called what direction the car was headed nothing happened very frustrating.

As it turns out the car was stolen....

butterscotch · 28/03/2010 02:08

Glad your friend was okay I mean't sorry baby brain typing!

geordieminx · 28/03/2010 12:46

Hamilton Trixy, although there was a bloke shot dead at the Stepps one last month...

OP posts:
outnumbered2to1 · 29/03/2010 00:47

if it was the hamilton asda she has no chance of getting it on CCTV. Some bastard hit the front of my car TWICE while parking next to it and there CCTV wasn't working because of a bug in the system.

She's also lucky they didn't fire bomb it!!!

scottishmummy · 29/03/2010 00:52

hamilton asda is like dr moreau island.burds wi mustaches, entire family kitted out in grubby auld firm kit

yikes

only coatbrig is scarier

outnumbered2to1 · 29/03/2010 00:54

scottishmummy ? you've never been in the asda in blantyre then......? now that place is seriously scary.

scottishmummy · 29/03/2010 00:57
