According to todays DT.. they should be banned as they are so ugly,,,i have to be prised out of mine, plus the writer cant understand why we would pay £150 for them..I dont find them at all offensive, oh and sh said they must smell!!

PuzzleRocks · 18/03/2010 14:45

Sorry, I agree. Ugly as hell. And everywhere.

Alambil · 18/03/2010 14:46

ooh they look so comfy

I wish I could get some

deliakate · 18/03/2010 14:46

Daily..... Telegraph???

lorelilee · 18/03/2010 14:47

YADNBU. They are, by far, the most comfortable footwear I've ever had the pleasure to own. Like you, mine will have to be surgically removed one day. WELL worth the money. However, took a while to get used to not wearing socks.

dolphin13 · 18/03/2010 14:48

I love mine so comfy, and they don't smell

stealthsquiggle · 18/03/2010 14:48

They may well by ugly. I don't care. They are comfortable and warm and I love mine (DH bought me them for Christmas ). Not that I would wear them for work, but other than that I plan to wear them until I transition straight to sandals (not crocs, I haven't sunk that far) for the summer.

dolphin13 · 18/03/2010 14:49

But the recent trend for men in uggs.
No no no' so wrong

stealthsquiggle · 18/03/2010 14:49

lorelillee - aren't you supposed to wear socks with them, then?

PersonalClown · 18/03/2010 14:50

I love the 'different' ones I wear!

These are the only things that kept my feet warm all winter and I am well known for being cold blooded.

mamatomany · 18/03/2010 14:51

Apparently they are very bad for your back and feet, I am going to try and wear them less having read the article, but they are sooooo cosy.

fallon8 · 18/03/2010 14:54

Thankyou ladies.I dont care if they are ugly, the rest of me is so fab.you dont notice the feet. They were a godsend this winter.

WitchyWooWoo · 18/03/2010 14:56

personalclown those are gorgeous! where did you get them?

Morloth · 18/03/2010 14:59

I think Ugg are a beautiful piece of marketing and I bow my head in homage to whichever agency has managed to pull this off.

I have one word only for you people and that word is "Bogan".

Wanders off giggling...

PersonalClown · 18/03/2010 14:59

Fab aren't they?? Purple fur inside too.
Also different designs and colours available.

I got mine from a local alternative shop but they are easily available online. They are by Iron Fist and are their Sherpa boots.

Trifle · 18/03/2010 15:00

Appallingly ugly and seemingly favoured by fat women with huge legs which make them look enormous and slovenly. Ghastly beyond belief.

mummyofteens · 18/03/2010 15:01

Ok I give in - what does "Bogan" mean?

Morloth · 18/03/2010 15:04

Prime examples

lorelilee · 18/03/2010 15:04

Stealthsquiggle - no you're not - it's all natural fibres inside which allow your feet to breath and so not smell.

stealthsquiggle · 18/03/2010 15:10

mamtomany - the thing I saw on BBC Breakfast said that the real ones are not too bad - it's the cheap copies which have no structure around the heel which are really bad for feet.

thefinerthingsinlife · 18/03/2010 20:14

at Morloth.

I think they are hideous, yuk yuk yuk!

Sassybeast · 18/03/2010 20:19

I neither have fat legs nor look slovenly and I love them. Now if you'd be talking about CROCS...

shona2 · 18/03/2010 20:31

Here in Canada, Uggs are practically a winter staple. They are so cozy and comfy and easy to slip on. Random thoughts on this subject:
-don't wear them if you're overweight
-wear them with socks
-don't try to wear them with any trousers other than jeans, definitely do NOT wear them with skirts unless you are 14.
-don't let your husband wear them
-go for the real thing or don't bother
-crocs on adults=WRONG

runnybottom · 18/03/2010 20:31

If you are slim and lovely though they have the effect of making your legs look slimmer and lovelier.
And I'm not slovenly either.

Facebookaddict · 18/03/2010 20:36

I'm with shona2 but have to say although I will wear mine til April I was pretty horrified at Westfield to see gangs of 20 or so 14yr olds wearing them and instantly wanted out!!! Then I remembered how awful it is having soggy jeans bc when I'm not tucking trousers in life is so much more grotty.

Alouiseg · 18/03/2010 20:40

After the winter we've just had i'll be sticking with them.

Btw they are fine in the occasional 30c machine wash.
