to want to bitch-slap dh until he bleeds....?

arghhhh...... Dh has a serious snoring problem, i've posted about it before...

Anyway past couple of weeks he's had a cold/cough and has been sleeping on sofa -bliss! Me and dd (16 weeks) have been able to sleep, feed, back to sleep nicely.... Not ideal him sleeping down there but he refuses to use nasal strips/snooreeze/go to gp about snoring ....

Anyway, last night he was working until half nine and decided to go for a beer so he wouldnt be back until half eleven, no probs.. I went to bed. He is working this morning and has to get up at 6:15 so he knew he'd sleep downstairs. He's not the quietest at night or morning either...

I was up with dd at 11:30 and 2:30, both times she fed for half hour and straight back to sleep, so i was able to go back to sleep around 3... Dh came into bedroom clutching his bag, phone etc, all lights in hall on saying a mouse/rat downstairs was running around and woke him (his bloody fault we have one, wont use plate for bread, chucks scraps of food into wicker basket instead of kitchen bin!) and that he was coming to bed. I made him turn of his alarm as its too loud and he doesnt turn it off quickly and i dont want us all up at 6:15... I set mine....

He climbs into bed and honestly within seconds is snoring! i cant sleep and within minutes dd is awake. I try feeding her, she is distracted and wont feed/fall back asleep... I poke dh several times, no luck...

Put dd into cot, she's gurgling away and poo-ing so i change nappy and try and get her to sleep again, no luck and now the b*trd dawn chorus has joined in so i've put her back into her cot with twinkle little star playing on repeat and daddy snoring like a wart-hog in the background..... Arghhh happy bloody mothers day!

Can i bitch slap him until he bleeds and cries like a girl or aibu?

YABabitU, but I feel your pain. When you've been up umpteen times with DCs then your DP effectively steals your sleep by snoring like a bastard it causes rage.

But a bit U because he can't help it, right now.

Send him to GP in the week!

issysmilkbottle · 14/03/2010 06:19

he refuses to go to the gp!

Then he should sleep downstairs with his mice/rats/whatever. He might find that an annoying noise keeping him awake is quite infuriating

issysmilkbottle · 14/03/2010 06:33

the alarm has gone off and he's moaning that he hasnt slept at all! I told him he bloody well has as he's been snoring and if he is now snoring when awake he has a serious problem!

He reckons i'm a bitch for poking him, that i have no patience and show him no respect! Arghhhh

I now have to look after dd and ds (age 10) on about 3 hours broken sleep and he thinks its not a problem as its him that has to go to work!

If he doesnt use the strips etc tonight there may be a murder!

issysmilkbottle · 14/03/2010 06:35

right... gonna try and get dd back to sleep - she wont nap in day unless out in her pram/lying on you so i have no chance of a nap... Dh has just slammed door in way out, prob waking ds.... Twunt!

FrazzleRock · 14/03/2010 06:41

Nothing to add except I feel your pain. There's nothing worse than a snorer at night when you have young DCs. Especially a drunk snorer

Vinegartits · 14/03/2010 06:51

record him snoring, then play it back to him LOUDLY when he starts to drift of to sleep

Tell him you have to put up with it so why shouldn't he!

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 14/03/2010 07:45

He's being really really horrible. YANBU.

Buddleja · 14/03/2010 07:55

Yes bitch slap him until he cries.

Then after he's stopped crying and it's time to sleep again record his snoring on his phone and set it as his ringtone/message alert - depending on which he get's more of calls or messages

MaMight · 14/03/2010 07:58

The title of your thread is horrible.

SixtyFootDoll · 14/03/2010 08:03

I appreciate you are annoyed but i dont like your thread title.
Imagne if a bloke cam on here and said the same about his wife?

BAFE · 14/03/2010 08:11

yanbu - he needs to sort out the mouse problem and book himself in for some laser surgery tocure his snoring. Any private dentist will do it for around £1000.

Tortington · 14/03/2010 08:12

another violent thread title - is this a trend?

i think you should punch the fucker really hard. stop talking about it, stop making shit up - and just fucking punch him.

imean if thats the YANBU verdict.

issysmilkbottle · 14/03/2010 08:39

i can assure you i am not making any of it up! I wish i was!

I apologise if the title of my thread has upset anyone, if you have read my previous threads you may understand how desperate i am for him to get it sorted and at 5:30am on mothering sunday after minimal sleep i am not necessarily considering the sensibilities of those likely to suggest i am making anything up! New title - 'should i gently carress dh and thank him for making sure i missed as little of mothers day as possible?'....

On a plus side, dd fell asleep at half seven and ds brought me flowers, coffee and toast at 8:15 (and woke us up!) But bless him.... Xx

OP posts:
asdx2 · 14/03/2010 08:48

Dh has been sleeping downstairs for months because of his snoring (so bad it wakes me up from downstairs)
Gave him a choice get it sorted or sleep somewhere else.
He has chosen the sofa because he is too scared of what the GP might recommend
YA MOST DEFINITELY NBU

SawneyBeane · 14/03/2010 09:02

What does bitch-slap mean?
Is it different from a normal slap?

MangoTango · 14/03/2010 10:10

Vile cringemaking title

hmc · 14/03/2010 10:25

I just read the title as a tongue-in-cheek jokey title to underline just how frustrated the OP feels. Absolutely no need to be po-faced puritans about it imo

issysmilkbottle · 14/03/2010 10:38

exactly! I would never bitch slap him (more likely to punch him! )....

A bitch slap is like when you see 2 american teenage girls slapping each other while trying to balance on heels and hold onto their handbags and keep hair and make up in place!

Some people on here really do take themselves too seriously and appoint themselves moral guardians of the boards... [ducks and hides....]

GypsyMoth · 14/03/2010 10:51

Issy I wonder how you'd feel if it were other way tound and men were posting titles like that?

I think mumsnetters would have plenty to say!

hmc · 14/03/2010 10:55

Am loathe to disagree with you again ThreeBlondeBoys - but somewhat different dynamics if a bloke wrote that...given that men are generally physically much stronger than women and men engage in domestic violence to a greater extent than women.

GypsyMoth · 14/03/2010 11:01

Disagree with what? I asked the op how she would feel and said mumsnetters would have something to say!

Lol what's to agree or disagree, it's thoughts on the thread title which OTHER mners have commented on also!!

GypsyMoth · 14/03/2010 11:02

Issy can you put the strips on him once he's asleep or don't they work like that?

noddyholder · 14/03/2010 11:05

I agree change the thread title and you will egt a LOT more sympathy and advice!
