To think dh has no taste?

Yeah yeah I probably should have put this in DIY/property but that's dull!

So what do you think of these tiles?

Scroll down to SPRING (the pink one).

We're having a Victorian style bathroom, roll-top bath etc. I want two of these on either side of the shower on the cubicle walls (i.e. inside the shower). We are having the walls dark pink below the dado and off-white above the dado.

Fantabulous and poncetastic, non?

Dh has said no, but I am ignoring him slowly talking him round.

OOh NotQuiteCockney I'd like to see that!

It is going to look similar to this but the toilet has a high cistern. Probably not quite as pink as that but hopefully will give you more of an idea.

I cannot believe this thread has generated so many replies!

Maybe I shouldn't admit that I have bought this mirror and matching cabinet and shelves...

dado rails are pointless rubbish

tethersend · 14/03/2010 18:32

Sorry, is that website called 'pine solutions'?

If thats the solution, what in heaven's name is the problem?

It's terrifying.

BessieBoots · 14/03/2010 18:35

I actually shivered with the horribleness of them. But they ARE different, I'll give you that...

BessieBoots · 14/03/2010 18:37

But I really like the mirror, and the bathroom in your link. No pretentious tiles in that pic... (sorry for being so honest btw)

FatherOfTwoBoys · 14/03/2010 18:41

Have to agree with DH on this one.....

Fab idea LeQueen. And a mural of a Tuscan orchad...

BessieBoots · 14/03/2010 20:11

*orchard. I'm a dimwit.

NotQuiteCockney · 14/03/2010 22:33

Too much pink for me. Our bathroom is v plain, white tiles, the cabinets are behind mirrors. Ok, the floor is a bit busy (not changed since previous tenants) but at least the nippley wall tiles are gone.

Must have been a typo. She meant a dildo rail.

DanFmDorking · 15/03/2010 00:14

Be wary of criticising your partner?s taste, after all, they chose you!

BitOfFun · 15/03/2010 00:20

The original Mucha print is rather beautiful, if you google it- but the way it has been reproduced on those tiles strips it of any warmth or charm. The whole thing comes across as rather seventies fantasy art, and a bit cheesy.

Blackduck · 15/03/2010 06:13

we have those in a fireplace in our house (there when we bought the house) I always get the most overwhelming urge to draw glasses and a mustache on her.......

Picante · 15/03/2010 07:02

Ooh very interesting about the dado. Our current bathroom has a dado, and I like it.

However, you lot are making me think... maybe it's a bit too much!

Have found some nice William De Morgan and William Morris tiles...

I love those tiles. You must have them.

Cloudbase · 15/03/2010 12:41

Ooh, I love art nouveau, but I think Nocturnal Slumber are much much nicer - can't you fit them into your scheme instead?
